Turbo Conversion COMPLETE!

Well after what seems like a lifetime, today I finally took delivery of my car.

Apart from a minor hiccup (I left my mark on the highway... hope to have pics soon) the car is running pretty well.

My battery is rat **** and not holding charge so starts are a bit interesting but that should be fixed soon.

Lets just say I am still smiling. Little time to adjust to the different power delivery and loosing traction in first gear without trying....

Final figures were 148kwatw@14psi, 603nm of torque (3rd gear).

Will have a dyno sheet soon.

heh thanks dudes...

Dave ill wait for canberra for some pics. Aaron is very good at the digital art.

Rod: Finances permitted a normal hvy duty replacment for the time being but an odyssey is def on the cards. I want to relocate the battery to the boot at some stage so will see how we go.

Jim: no more screamin intercooler but I have already been scolded by the neighbours! hahahah not even 1 day.

LOL

If you are up for it, some night shots on the Saturday night after dinner perhaps?

If people are thinking of drinking, then a taxi from your motel is the way to go...

And JynX, we have some really nice glossy photo paper here if Aaron gets some ripper pics!

Speaking of screaming passengers I had my first trip in the car last
night. Very Very nice power delivery pulls well and the sound of the
BOV in the box is a nicely clean but not harsh sound. The appearence
is very good with all the stainless bits and pieces. I wont say it is a
thrifty install but does go and look very nice and Jim should be proud
of it. Has given me some good idea's for future mods for my car
I can see a VF8 being a good choice for my car now.

i've got a vf10 hybrid upgrade underway. It seemed like a good stepping stone until I feel I get my T28 ...

its a shame i wont be at the dyno weekend to take a look jimbo. you'll have to stretch its legs and head south for the winter

Yes I agree with Dogo. There is so much I want to do with my car
just dont have the money. For me I am getting all these niggling problems
coming up that keep on chewing up whatever money I get for trying to
upgrade things. I would really like not for a change, to be spending
my money on broken gearboxes or buckled rims or broken bearings but
on a nice new i/c and pipework or a new turbo.
My car is just about to hit 140k mileage 90k of that with the turbo motor
am wondering how long now before its time to rebuild the motor may just
have to get a 10k loan and go all out. After being in Jimbo's the want for
more power is back !!!

Excellent news Jimbo! Can't wait to see it!

Its just tempting me more and more to drop in a KL-ZE into the V6 and really take you turbo boys on!
Guess I'll have to wait until I get that new job and have saved up for the house deposit. grrrrr.

Enjoy it Jimbo..... and be nice to that gearbox

*sigh* I could get the money, but then the insurance is the problem for an under-25 driver.

Hope you enjoy it! And give the neighbors hell.
