Got the KL-ZE delivered yesterday

i have managed to pick up a low k KL-ZE for the transplant to the new Batmobile soon and its a beauty.
John at Just Japanese parts at Mt Druitt was unable to tell me how many Ks the engine had done only that it was low K (they removed it from a front damaged JDM vehicle a while ago)
After inspection the engine had been cleaned up prior to delivery and its a shiny one
There is NO corrosion to the water fed parts and they still look like new. There is next to no signs of use to any of the pulleys. All of the electrical system looks next to new and the rubber hoses show no signs of age.
The sump has a few scratches to the paint but no dents or gouges
Everything seems to sparkle and I am stoked as this seems to be a much lower k version than I ever expected to get hold of.
P.S. the manifold runners are HUGE (external diameter 55mm to the48-50 on the KF-ZE) so a custom bonnet modification may be on the cards WOOT

I am happy for me

I am turning a strange greenish colour,

Did you get engine only, engine + ecu etc or the full front cut?

I see you got it from Mt Druitt?? Are doing the work In Sydney? Go on say yes.

Show us a piccy of her when you can.

You HAVE to take a comparrison shot of the engine bay before and after I wanna see how much differnce. Should be stuff all,

Which is the heavier engine? Seriously?

Congrats dude, Jealous as.

Whats your schedule for getting this thing in?

I think thats enough q’s for now.

I will get Nate to start the photoshop today and I will be getting the Journal started asap.
Skip, I had it delivered to Brisbane, the KL is the heavier engine so the front suspension needs to be upgraded if you have a stock car for engineering approval.
I may be held up with the full iunstall as I am awaiting some info from America on certain "special" parts but I may start a thread as the time comes closer but atm it looks like around June for the full install.

Very envious Bat-Boy. Make sure you keep us all up to date as we're all dying to see how it turns out.

Tim the heads supposedly are the same KL31-101, I have to admit that when I shoved my damn head in the engine bay of the astina (again) I thought that I saw something else so I will have to find that one out for you,I just need to get a mirror and a good light source but they do have rectangular ports. Only time will will tell

Nate says:

im so green i think i have turned into a tree

Not a problem Tony I will do my best bit of publishing
Tim lets just confuse the whole thing even further...
Left bank= K8 1A1
Right bank= K8 101
So much for trusting what I've been told by those in the know before, maybe the port sizes are different on the heads. Nate will post some pics up soon

Now that I will be able to spend the time on the thing the $$$ arent flowing as free so there is a small dent in the plan but its only money so I will find a way

Hey Pete, let me know when you need me to fix up the crank sensor plate with your machinist. I don't know how much time I can put in otherwise helping out with the labour, since Andrew and I are going to start on our manifolds first chance we get after I get all my current car **** out of the way...

Gav.

Gav I will be extracting the standard Crank sensor off the engine shortly so we can check against the stock sensor plate to ensure that the pints are in the orrect place and the standard one DOES have the divots halfway between each point

OK. Cos that was the only thing stopping me from finishing the lighter design at this stage... I might need to see the stock sensor plate for measuring if it's different enough from the last one?
