As a very close mate said to me...

"Tip for young players, buy some head-light protectors
and cut them to the design you create. Sand down the
plastic to prepare, prime, paint then clear-coat."

If you get asked to remove them from the local law
enforcement sub-committee, simply pop the bonnet,
(no need to open the bonnet) and pull them out.

On the plus side, you get to create the design that
YOU want.

Hey Monkey,

As far as I can remember from mine before they got smashed in
a 4 car pile up last Tuesday, the tops clip in very, very nicely
with the legitimate Mazda protectors and hold in extremely well.

Couldn't tell you about any 3rd party products at all sorry

Note: the ones shown at Jetspeed are to fit models
July 1994 to September 1998 according to the website.

Mazda used to sell them (and probably still do) as i had genuine ones once upon a time. Until some arse opened his door into one as i was swinging into a carpark...

But that wont really work for a BA, as they just clip top and bottom, and if you're cutting off the bottom half of the headlight protector, it wont stick without using some doublesided tape. In which case you might as well just make some from fibreglass and stick them on.

It all depends on the job that you do and the preparation that you
put into it. if you mark it out, measure it, re mark it, cut it, smooth
it back, prime it with the correct primer, paint it and clear coat it
the way it should be, you'd prolly get more comments on the
eye lids that are unique and custom than with stock standard 3rd
party eye lids.

I watched a my mentor do his TS Magna ones, his eyelids were
top and bottom eyelids, never seen anything like it, and looked
a million dollars (ok, so maybe looked tens of dollars, but anyway)
due to the fact that their were unique and time was taken to
make them correctly, the first time.

What you could do is put them on, make your unique design, then
cut them down, with the off cuts, practice the prep and paint on them
so you know what to expect.

just remembered something, my mate also scuffed, primed and painted
the inside of the eyelid with heat resistant/reflective paint too.
Helped protect them just that little bit more from any heat.

has shut it's doors for good now, so alas, no pics. I'll try and
draw up a picy demonstrating how it looked if I can't find the
