Big issues with the slave cylinder on My GTR conversion
Hi people im calling out to all GTR and GTX specialist in need of help with my conversion. im currently doing a Mazda GTR swap into my Mazda 323F 1.8 96 model.
Everything has been sweet so far all the engine mounts bolt up and everything sits correctly. Just this afternoon iv come across my first big problem which is the SLAVE CYLINDER. I manage to source a Limited edition 1.8 GTX Front wheel drive gearbox with LSD from Japan and have now bolted this up onto the GTR engine which matches up perfectly and bolts down onto the chasis perfectly. Whilst trying to fit the slave cylinder i have now realised that the slave cylinder does NOT reach the fork arm. does anybody know why?????? Iv taken the slave cylinder from the G-series gearbox and F-series gearbox and they both do not reach. Im using a Exedy Racing 6 paddle clutch for the GTR engine but using a FWD GTX 1.8 gearbox. i have thought about lengthing the slave cylinder rod but it might hit the back of the gearbox so im really stuck and confused! :s does anyone have any clues here i really need the help please please please!!! |

if it doesn't fit, then the GTX FWD box must have a specific one that you'll need to source. It's surprising that the G series one you already don't work though.
Is the clutch fork sitting in the right position?

does the clutch line have any fluid/pressure in it, as the slave does extend once under pressure.
