My windscreen has many tiny spots(like thousands) on the outside that I can only see when driving into a rising or setting sun, its rather annoying when it happens but is perfectly clear the rest of the time, I know its most likely caused by tiny stone chips from sand/small stones etc from 9 years use.
Is there anyway you can polish it out or is it just better to put up with it??

most definitely! You'll get away with it for a while but they're trying to tell you they don't wanna play no more

Same thing with my car, although doesn't sound nearly as bad. But the monaro's got heaps of scratches in the rear window from some metal clips that were on it.
Someone suggested getting the window professionally polished, as that'll cut them out, whether or not it'll be worthwhile for stone chips over a whole windscreen i'm not sure but could be worth a look around

You can get a windscreen polished, but most places don't like doing it as it will cause distortions if there's any depth to the scratches.

Phil & Daniel, you have 3 options:

1. Leave it as is
2. Claim for a new windscreen through insurance (if you have 1 new windscreen per year)
3. Polish it up

I have read you can polish it up using glass polish, but is very time consuming & you need to use a highspeed orbital buffer to polish out the scratches etc.

I had the same dilemma with my old Gemini, was pitted to crap with very minute "dents", ended up using another windscreen out of 1 of the 6 Gemini's we had at the time

I think I will call the insurance company and see what they say, its not that bad of a problem as I said you can only see it when driving into the sun in the early morning, if I can take a pic of it I will so others can see.
The dots look to be the size of a pin head/grain of sand.

225/40/18 tyre too wide for a SP20?
+52.5 offset on a 7.5" rim

MPS rims are okay, but those tyres are too big.

Im guessing BL MPS3 rims? Seeing the BK3 MPS & 6MPS both had 18x7" rims, and 215/45 tyres

As Ryan has said, tyres are too big, to stay legal you have to go with 215/35

Now my question.....

Can you buy valve cover gaskets by themselves for the FP/FS? Missus laser is leaking and mine is starting to as well, so best to replace now.. I can buy from the US, but for buying 3 it still works out to $45 each shipped, so is it worth buying locally (if I can)??

Cheers
Marc

didnt want to start a wasted thread so i'll ask it here instead.
so there aren't many (if any) decent after market tail lights for any of our cars out there that we actually like a lot. i was gonna go buy some smoke/black/tinted (whatever you want to call it these days) tail lights for the MX5 but nothing i saw was appealing. saw marc's post about lamin-x and that reminded me of doing it that way but then i remembered a couple of tail lights that i really liked which were on 2 other cars i wanted to buy at the time.

they are......:

Toyota AE111 Levin BZR

OR

Honda AP2 S2000

Compared to

Mazda NA MX5

or i could just leave it as it is.. but i want to do something "different". i like the non mazda tail lights as above because they stand out on a black car. and they look nice and simple . suggestion wanted, unwanted tail lights also wanted
