Splurged on eBay. Bought a LED 'flasher can' replacement to slow down my LED indicators, a 90 degree silicon bend and a 3A Racing pod filter. I have some nice rubber mat and will do a cold air intake setup when it comes in.

I have already drilled a 4" hole in the bodywork under the passenger headlight and lined that with conduit. Now I just need to make the pod do a 90 degree turn down into that space in the front quarter and cut/secure the rubber mat into place over the top of that space with a hole for the silicon bend.

Booked my car in tomorrow morning for an oil change and general check-up.
My mechanic wants to chuck my car on the dyno to make sure my VICS controller is kicking in at the right time and its not making it run rich or lean.

Does anyone know at what revs the FS-ZE is supposed to kick its VICS in at?
I have it set at 4900 RPM which is where the 1.8 kicked in.
It feels about right, as I have tried it both higher and lower.
And also running it the opposite way which makes it gutless.

Once it is on the dyno the AFR will be a dead givaway to when it should be set at.

haha, I never seem to leave the Pro5 section on Mazdas247, which is prolly why I didnt see it

The only thing that has me confused, is what side do I apply the gasket glue to?? Between the gasket & head, or the gasket & valve cover?

Have had a fun day with my car today.
I took my car in for a service today,we changed the oil and brake fluids.
After that we put my car on the dyno and made sure the Vics controller was kicking in at the right point, I was about 50 RPM out setting it by my butt dyno.
The car is running very rich, probably because the 1.8 has smaller injectors and holds them open longer.
It did manage today to put out 87.9KW though. Much better than the last run the 1.8 did!!(67 KW) But more to come with the proper ECU.
Video of my car on the dyno today
Afterwards I went to QLD transport and updated my engine number which was surprisingly easy.
The lady didnt seem to care about the increase from 1.8 - 2.0L or it being an import and was only worried about it not having more cylinders.
So its now fully legal and with no mod plate required and at no cost!!!
Updated the insurance policy and for some reason its $16 less a month to insure the car.
I then chased them up as to why I haven't received payment so I can get the bus damaged fixed and they released it was their mistake and will send a cheque.
Also they told me I was wrongly informed when I made the claim for the flood damage to my engine and the lady on the phone approved the claim for damage done to the engine.
All I have to do is send a copy of the invoices to them and they will send me a cheque.
I then washed and car because I thought it deserved it!!!

Apply sealant to both sides in corners only ,the rest will seal without it .only use a little as it squishes out when tightening .

This bodes well for the 3.0L -> 3.5L swap i'm looking at for the 3000. I'd have thought it'd be a pain.
