seatbelt retracted to far...

Hey guys,
Just finished my coilover install on my 03 protege sp20 and the rear seatbelts have retracted down to far and are now stuck so i cant get them back up to bolt them in.
Anyone know how to fix this ?

You need to hold the unit upright so that the lock will release and feed the belt out.

I see this question a lot... to prevent this, one should simply pull the seat belt spool out and stuff the reel through the front seat head rest and then put the head rest back down

now, if you didn't do that... you will need to get the reel perfectly level with the ground to allow you to pull it out as JDM323 said.... you will need to slowly tilt it while pulling to test if it will let you pull it out... it's trial and error

why this happened? simple answer... vehicle roll over protection...
