G'Day etc

Hey all,

I'm Jed, 28, Security Officer, living north of Brisbane and I just bought a BJII-J48 Astina Hatch. I thought I'd better join a car specific forum as I haven't really worked on these before and might be able to pick up some tips.

My (unnamed) baby is black, and in desperate need of a wash after driving it 900km home from NSW. Mods so far are
Double DIN Sony WXGT90BT Head Unit
  • 100W RMS Kicker splits up front
  • 100W RMS Kicker coaxials for the rear (not installed yet - read on to see why)
  • 800W Peak Pioneer GM-D7400M amp and matching Sub (also not installed yet, need wiring kit)
  • ByuteFlash (aka cheap bastard) as sound dampening material in the doors, hatch, boot floor. Ran out doing door 4, hence rear speakers still waiting to be installed
  • (In Progress)Removing front bumper to paint all grille pieces red. Also (if they exist) finding open grilles for the foglight positions and painting those red too. If none exist then cutting the holes out myself and tidying it up.

Actual performance modifications will take place when I'm not in cheap prick mode. I also need to buy an amp for the door speakers before that too.

Welcome to Agt, the foglight blanking plates for the 1.8L j48 are not available with the open grilles so looks like a bit of time and patience and you'll be good.

Sweet, thanks for the info! Looks like I have a weekend project now. I've already reassembled the bumper (usual bolt left over too), so I'll probably show a pic sometime tonight or tomorrow.

Edit - Wow, hell. I didn't notice at first but our forum names are damn similar.
