I recommend JBL speakers... i have gto series 6.5" splits, they're pretty awesome even just running off my alpine head unit, the low frequency is pretty weak... but i guess that's why you get subs and use the crossovers in your amp or head unit... i bought JBLs almost purely because i knew that they put all of their resources as a company into speakers and amplification and do nothing else... thought they probably new what they were doing when it came to speakers, turns out i was right

nobody makes a better featured, nicer looking, classier head unit than alpine... you pay a high premium... but DAMN they're good! I've heard that their speakers are also good... but am yet to personally witness them.

In the end it all comes down to taste... different brands sound different... not bad... just different... this is where an EQ comes in handy... i find alot of sound noobs turn the bass right up and think it sounds awesome when it is actually completely ****house... i recommend turning up the vocal frequencies to get the best clarity out of your system.... on a 7-band eq this will be the 4th-6th bands...

remember... bass isn't everything!

wow... i guess i just started rambling... but i guess i answered the original topic
