LSA bushes, trailing arm bushes- the works. along with camber bolts and a rear swaybar from whiteline... installed most of it on the weekend. good times... even better times now!

also today i installed some new sparkplugs to replace the platinum/iridirum (i cant exactly remember what now) and took it around the block and its back to souding healthy again. not the first to have this happen either, perhaps our engines dont like the expensive ones much... all i need now is to lower the guts out of it (i.e. 50-55mm or something) and have some fun on the tracks... if i can afford that either?

oh and new brakepads. something different from Greg to try.

What duro are the 23mm front swaybar bushing from Superpro?

Also, how much were the rear bushes? Have superpro got rear control arm bushes yet?

i see 7 superpro packets.

1. front swaybar bushes
2. front inner control arm bushes
3. rear inner control arm bushes
4. front rear trailling arm bushes
5. rear rear trailling arm bushes
6.
7.

what are the other 2 packets for?

i also noticed the superpro website lists the from swaybar bush as 20mm for a BA. but I4 = 23mm, V6 = 24mm. how you do with fitment of yours?

no idea. ive still the pleasure...as for the other packets, one was for the bushings (for the BG youve said) and the other... ive still to work that out myself. when i get some time on teh weekend ill sus it out.
edit: i think the second packet, although marked differently is a copy of the rear trailing arm ones, BUT it included metal washers. one was marked R Trailing arm Rear and the other was marked RR trailing arm Rear different part numbers too. see:

Front SPF1495K – Control Arm Lower Rear Bushing
Front SPF1494K – Control Arm Lower-Inner Front Kit
Front SPF1406-20K – Sway Bar Mount To Chassis Bushing
Rear SPF0306K – Sway Bar Link Bushing Kit -useless but they are pretty close to the dimensions i need for my window bushings... so i am going to recycle those!
Rear SPF0907K – Trailing Arm Lower Front Bushing
Rear SPF0906K – Trailing Arm Lower Rear Bushing
Rear SPF2744K – Trailing Arm Lower Rear Bushing

Front SPF1406-20K – Sway Bar Mount To Chassis Bushing Yup too small, -20K means it is 20mm diameter hole. When ordering, you need to change these numbers to the diameter required. Someone with a BG 323/KF/KH Laser will be able to use those.

Rear SPF0306K – Sway Bar Link Bushing Kit -useless but they are pretty close to the dimensions i need for my window bushings... so i am going to recycle those! Yup for BG 323/KF/KH Laser, front or rear sway bar links. Even lists them for a BG on the Superpro website, so must be a incorrect listing in the BA section.

Rear SPF0907K – Trailing Arm Lower Front Bushing

Rear SPF0906K – Trailing Arm Lower Rear Bushing

Rear SPF2744K – Trailing Arm Lower Rear Bushing 44mm diameter bushes which isn't required, as the 907K and 906K are the 40mm trailling arm bushes required. I wonder if they are for the latteral links instead, but just listed incorrectly? How many bushes are in there?
.....

well i finally have done some upgrades! 4 hours after waiting in line at the post office, my car doesnt make horrible clunking noises at the front anymore and corners better than ever. i bought those elsport springs/shocks and the car sits about the same as the MS suspension. still not low enough unfortunately. the actual shocks were a good 4-5cm shorter than the original kit - is this the case for all aftermarket shocks (eg kyb/koni)

all i can say is mt cootha felt stupid slow @ 60km/hr and being responsible figured i didnt want to risk giving it a thrashing on a friday night!!! saw a radar on the way home...

been a while since Ive spent money on this beast. but it got a treat to keep it happy today.

before:

while epoxy and tape has worked for 2.5 years I doubt it would pass roadworthy!

so, while looking for a bonnet I found this:

a bit of a clean later it looked like this:

15 minutes later it looked like this:

genuine LEATHER wheel from a fully optioned v6.

Todays work.

Bought 2 new engine mounts, 2x gearbox input shaft seals, loctite grey gasket maker, sump seal set, tie rod ends x2 and lower ball joints x2. approx $300, making this repair close to the $800 mark (including new cv shafts I bought ages ago). no too shabby.

all I got done was draining the oil, removing the sump, a good clean and a reseal. took me like 3 hours...hopefully it doesnt leak!

more to come tomorrow...

Clutch and gearbox assembled! Just noticed the rear mounting threads are pretty ruined from removing it unfortunately so Idk what I'll be able to do. Maybe I can retap but most likely a larger bolt or different thread or something. The blows keep coming.

Rough as but it hasn't snapped the 4 times I've done this... Lucky I guess. Mazda calls it a sst. I call it genius. Nice how they supply the parts with every gearbox.

And this is the $10 replacement part which has ruined my week.
