lol, funny you mention that,
because a while ago i had to pull the dash apart too...
i finally found a clock that worked. lol.
also, if you have yo replace on of the lights behind the dash,
why not change them to red or blue???
maybe even orange, green, purple, pink, Chrystal white, even yellow. lol.
what ever floats your boat.

also, got another problem... my A-pillar strip (passenger side) broke off yesterday
so i will have to fiber glass it up....again (same one that broke before).
except this time the clips broke (last time the whole top section, where the screw is broke off)
anyways, i also found out why it broke...
basically, when i had to get my new wind screen put in, the guy that done it
didn't put the top screw back in it, and therefore put too much force on the clip... and it broke.

Yeah, someone could make a killing fabricating metal replacement a-pillars. I've snapped two real ones before, it's way too easy to do.

lol. do you have any pictures of your dash lights in the night.
i was thinking of doing mine in either white, blue or red... any opinions, or pics of the other colours??

and yea, some metal ones would be very nice, too bad no one makes them.
but its not too much of a drama... nothing that a little fiber glass can't fix.
also, i was looking at making fiberglass moulds for each A-pillar, as it would save many people lots of problems. but just haven't had the time, and am unsure of the costs to make the original mould.

have a look in my project worklog regarding the dash lights.
only the needles and counters are lit up by the lights, the gauge faces are self lighting

oh k, i just checked it out. looks fantastic.
i will probably just end up pulling my dash out and play with all of the lights and use different coulor schemes.
for example, white face with blue dials, ect.
but i will c how it goes

still having no major issues,
despite a small flat spot.
i am getting great fuel economy (6.5-7.5L/100).
so i cannot really complain at all.
i have my Christmas holidays coming up in a week,
with an 8/9 week break, so i should be getting a few more jobs done.
i will be sure to keep you updated.

that is already on the list of things to do while i am on my holiday break,
will probably replace the O2 in a couple of weeks.
it should only be $50 maximum, haven't had a look yet, but considering they are $94 for a NGK O2 for a 300zx TT,
and the NGK TITANIUM O2 is $115 for a 180sx (sr 20),
i am probably expecting 40 for the universal one.

might also have a look into a lazy eye kit and may also replace ALL vacuum lines while i am at it, just to be sure.

will also replace the rocker cover gasket, while i am there i will paint it.
but what are your opinions???
options;
1) colour match it (paint it the same colour as my car... 'red hot')
2) paint it charcoal (like the OEM coulor)
3) paint it black (matte or gloss)

i think black or gun metal grey might look nice because there is already alot of red going on with the car at the moment. but definately wrinkle paint, its looks awesome and probably covers some of the imperfections nicely.

that's exactly what i was thinking,
i should and probably will go the gunmetal or charcoal,
just because it will break up the red a bit, i don't want too much red.
and plus, my spark plug leads are red too (Bosch), so i will still have a little bit of red under the hood.
