Its pretty much the strongest out of the 90 series 4 cyl Mazda motors, it can handle well over 450HP on stock internals

stronger than a BPD more powerful than a BPT and its non turbo

boring? pigs ass It's old school like the BF is in the first place huh? lights em up piss easy & straight to 6500. Unless you are planning on beafier box parts etc, no point putting too much through em' for a daily driver

Fe3 is 2.0L so, not my cuppa tea in a nimble purpose-built little rally car like the BF was purely designed for Evilist. If you are wanting big power just for runs down the strip or your simply keen on seeing how this great donk will go in the little 323. Thumbs up dude.

Just for arguments sake. How heavier will the 2.0L be? How much weight transfer to the front suspension (how it will effect front/rear handling ratio)? Any idea mate? All best with this WICKED project Told you you were worse than me Btw, does the 2.0L box bolt up & fit pretty trouble free? How's that go together in that little bay?

Jesse (Jesiotrot) is running one of these engines in his 626 wagon. GT3071R? on the Stock engine & swears by em'

Actually the South African Mazda 323(BF Shape) came out with a FE3 standard its called the Mazda 323 2.0i EGI 16v

I'm trying to locate the stock mounts for it, the 626 gearbox fits nicely with the stock rear gearbox mount, the front will have to be custom unfortunately no way around that. The engine mount is easy enough.

Its about the same as a BPT in weight its not much bigger in size

Awesome idea. I thought you'd have space issues with the engine being XXcm wider and then gearbox fouling on the chassis rails, but i guess not!

nope the Mazda FE3, the the KIA version is a bit harder to find here and its in a rwd setup too much work to swap everything over from a normal FE3

haha not my idea lol, tbh the B6T was just problems and problems for me. That's why I'm going FE3 its like perfect for what I'm building, and if i want to turbo i don't have to buy anything for the bottom end 18Psi + on a big arse turbo lol fun fun.

it'll be keep us updated. These engines aren't the problem. It's the boxes. I'll be interested to see how my little GT box holds up to the mods I'm doing (BPT mods etc). The B6T has alot of character & suits the BF so well. Just luv em. Your project will be very, very interesting!

You don't think the ass-end will be a little too light? I'd be lowering it but you seem to know these cars & know what your doing. Top project!

The rear of the car is quite low atm the the rear panel is almost touching the tyre lol(my pics they weren't settled yet)

For me the B6T didn't do it well enough for me haha, maybe coz I'm not really into them as much I'm more a BP guy and a no turbo guy. I have to admit it was fun to drive very cool

I'll be using these in the mean time, Until i workout the combination for the 626 5 stud hubs to bolt on(shouldn't be too hard)

The shafts I'll be trying still need to find the B6T shafts I have the hanger one tho

Mount I'll be using

And my power steering reservoir

For those who haven't seen one in a BF yet

bit of an update 8)

started to fit the FE3 man its a tight fit lol, have to grind a few bits of the side bracket that bolts onto the FE3 its getting in the way of the chassis

And need to make about 5-10mm clearance for the alternator
