Yeah, I was quite suprised myself! It does indeed look not too bad, though it does look a little odd, having three alloys and one steel wheel. Not to worry though! Next week it'll be back to normal

At least it's the same size, I'd have to go back to all of my steelies if I got a puncture now, haha.

edit: also just noticed the pattern along the tyre sidewall. I think you need a new sig.

That sucks! For that reason I'm not sure if I'll end up changing the rims, it seems that this car goes through spare tires like they're running out of fashion. From memory, I think this is about the 12th or 13th flat tyre we've had ever since owning the car

As for "Dainty as F*ck", thanks for the idea! I'll have a play around with ideas (time for a change anyway - my current sig is old) and see what I come up with

EDIT: I also got a new DSLR (sold the 500D) with a better movie function, so I'll be working on making a little video of the car just for fun!

That's quite a few tyres! Our MPV has this habit of running over things on the back left. Well, by habit, I mean twice.

I was kidding about the dainty thing, but whatever tickles your fancy.

5 years driving, had one flat, that was my fault for hitting a huge ass pothole.

my parents have never once had one that I can remember either...

And as punishment for bragging about it you will receive one in the next few months :-P Well that's what normally happens to me... good thing is the sp20 has a spare mag, not a Steel wheel, but at least you don't have to bare a space saver!

Ugh! Space saver... Yeah I'd prefer the steelie over it any day!

I might look for 1 steel wheel as a spare, those spare savers are scary to drive

So here's a quick update of today's efforts:

- Finally decided to get off my @ss and booked the car in for it's 215,000km service. I'm a little late in doing so, the car has over 218,000km on the clock. Nevertheless, the car is still getting serviced.

- I also decided to get the flat tire fixed. So off came the steel wheel, and on went the alloy with the repaired tire. Now all my wheels match . I was told there was a ~6mm puncture; That did not suprise me one bit.

- I then gave the car a wash and wax; First time I ever washed the car in about a month. I spent about 4 hours with the car, making it look all nice and shiny. Much to my disgust it started p!ssing down with rain the moment I packed everything away. Man was I happy... At least there are no more bird droppings on the car

Here are some pics (old and new) from last night/today:

Whoa, I just noticed that your thingies around the windows are silver...

I can't stand having a dirty car. Sooo need to replace my wiper fluid though, I keep running out, haha.

Yeah I'm not sure why my pillars are colour-coded as opposed to most other Protege/Astina's that have the matte black finish on them instead. Interesting.

And cheers Haighie

Seems Mazda was all confused about the trim levels maybe, haha.

Possibly! I mean I'm not complaining; it looks quite good. Just makes me wonder why Mazda would do that!

low grade models did not have black window frames in some countries.... in some other countries, such as south africa, none of the 323s have black window frames regardless of grade level

the black window frames are intended to make the car look better, in order to hide the weather stripping and to provide a continuous dark silhouette look when the glasses are tinted

Got my strut bar yesterday! Was working all day though so I had no time to clean it up and install it. So that was my task this morning

First impressions when driving it for the first time went something along the lines of "Whoah, are you freaking kidding me?! This handles heaps better!!", and indeed it does; Even with the TEIN springs in it still makes a massive difference
