Were Can I Get A Fuel Filter?

Went down to supercheap to get a new fuel filter and guess what? they don't list on for the BA with DOHC engine.

I'm 100% sure they have one (i can see it) and searching around on the forums hasn't helped me to find a part no. Does anyone know the part no. or where i can get one?

I got a Ryco for Stinky (same as BA one) from my local AutoPro. Be prepared for a pretty scary price though it was about $60...

Calm down guys, I'll have a look on Monday, and its not going to be $60...

That is definately NOT the case. I deal directly with both Wesfill as a stockist, and Ryco as a distributor, and there is ALOT of stuff that one makes that the other doesn't. Wesfill are Wesfill in their own right, whereas Ryco, since deciding to stop making their filters in Australia, have outsourced some Chinese mob to do them, and as such have turned to sh!t...

I can't access Wesfill or Purolator pricing over the weekend, but worst case the Ryco Z490 is $41. If the Wesfill one isn't around the $10-15 mark I'd be surprised...

i bought a ryco fuel filter for a BP n/a (same as the BPT one) from supercheap about 12 months ago and it cost me $23.99. If you paid $60 for a fuel filter, you would want the fuel to be so filtered that you could drink it!

You sure? They could be exactly the same, but ryco (who i don't trust as far as i can throw their catalouge anyway), have them listed as Z310 and Z410 separately...

[Edit] Just looking at the pictures, they're very similar, just the bottom hose connector is bent a little different, you could probably use either...

the only difference is slightly in the shape due to the mounting point on the firewall... either way it does the job more than adequately and certainly for a fraction of the cost

I'm sure it filters better than the one that came off the car.

Sure there's cheaper options, but at the time I went with the (only) option available to me.

It's the going rate for the particular Ryco through non-discounting chains or sellers and as such "we" need to be prepared to pay that price for them if we aren't able to access the cheaper options when we need the part.

I would much rather tell someone it'll cost up to $60 for a filter than have them bitch later that they can't get it for $23.99 in their town becuase the cheaper brand is not on the shelf and the reseller marks up the price on special order stock that takes a week to come in - if ever.

Either way I think the question has been well answered. Yes there's a few options including Lasers BP and BPT that will fit fine and do the job. The price will vary from real cheap to real expensive for quality that probably doesn't vary as much as price.
