anyone will post a how-to for the replacement later? i'm afraid couple of things have to be taken care of, including a spark plug socket and carefully cleaning, de-electirc grease or whatever stuff.

i'm having a service next Jan at the dealer's place, maybe i can have them to replace the plugs, but i'd rather do it myself if it doesn't involve too much investment in new tools.

mizda - you're right. the lower the number, the hotter the plug. 4 is the hottest plug i've ever heard of. you can then go up in to the teens for freezing plugs! 5 is a common heat range for standard cars. the new integra type-r's plugs have a heat range of 9!

ahb - see above. and the zf is the same thread as the bk. james, i also notice that ngk's site doesnt have a listing for your engine - can you double check that it's a BKR5E-11 or ZFR5F-11 ??? ta

all - boosted will be confirming what heat range he wants on saturday. as soon as i know the GB will close. mazdabator this means you need to let me know asap what you want!

after the GB closes i will post the usual EFT details for payment. payment will be due by 18 december (ie after friday night's eft run). the spark plug order will be placed on saturday the 18th.

i will have to be firm on this due date for payment due to previous GB payment issues : if payment not received by then, your order will be cancelled.

okay this is how it goes for a ford laser built after feb 1999 - this will relate to any 323 astina and 323 protege built after this date.

1.6L = ZFR5FIX-11 iridium plug
1.8L = BKR5EIX-11 iridium plug
2.0L = ZFR5FIX-11 iridium plug

and andy gave me last year a colder plug: the BKR6EIX-11.

Hey Twilight,

On a previous list you had me confirmed for the BKs however on the last list that had been changed to ZFs. No major drama but just for clarity (and my peace of mind) I would like to order the BKR5EIX-11s

Cheers mate

forgot to add, if you want to pay me via credit card that's cool. payment is done via paypal. price needs to be +4% and whatever the conversion rate is on www.xe.com at the time of paying. so at the moment, 4 heat 6 plugs would cost $49aud + 4% = $50.96...convert to usd where the rate is 0.754478 = $38.45usd.

cloudland, yours will be +$5aud as well for postage to you in NZ.
