The South African
Hey guys,
Great being on an Astina community I'm Charl and I'm from currently sunny and warm Cape Town. So I've been told I'm slightly strange, I love enjoying anything I can find, I love music, gaming and just hitting the road. And in context of this community, I fanatically love cars. I have not the greatest number of cars, I tend to keep them for a pretty long time. But cars for me must have personality, there must be something unique and interesting in either the car or the car's story. I started my car life with a gift from my gran on my 18th birthday, a 1984 Ford XR3, in red mind you this was in 2000, so it was an old car already, but damn it was good fun and a fantastic car for an 18 year old to have. Manual sunroof and all The first car I bought was a 1994 Opel Astra 200is, it was a bit of a letdown due to shoddy mechanics and it kept breaking. After that I needed something trustworthy again so I bought a 1996 Toyota Corolla 160GLE, this car taught me about the road and how to really roadtrip. 1000km on a tank of petrol, fantastic Then it was time for me grow up a little while still having fun, so I bought a 1992 Mercedes-Benz 230E Sportline. Cracking car! After the Merc I had an itch for something older and I bought a 1979 Mercedes-Benz 250, one of the last great carb model w123's And now we are on the now, and I have decided to join the Mazda cult. I now have a 1996 Mazda Astina 180se, and this is my first car that is modified! Figured 31 is as good age as any to become a boy again I'll post update on my ride in the build/ride section. Looking forward to the community! |
