Shouldn't the oil catch can be between the head cover and intake where the head breather hose is?
What Ryan and cosmo said I didn't read the last page. Sozzles

so, I want to do an auto to manual, and a 4 to 5 stud conversion at some point.

Could I buy a cheap v6 hardtop and use the bits for both of those conversions in a ba 4cyl hatch? Or does the v6 have too greatly different knifey-spoony connections for the sump & tranny & stuff? Is this idea too dumb(/impractical) for words? =)
(i'm kinda okay with impractical, though. cause if I was aiming for practical I'd probably just go out and get a late model commodore..)

And.
Tafe courses or whatever. Does anyone know of some mechanicisms courses that don't require a traineeship? I already have a job & career path (had a quick look through tafensw & plus, and it's all traineeship required. blerrr)

Anyone replaced the trail link bushes on a BJ? Are they hard to do?

Reason being mine are worn, and I found a set of Nolathane bushes on ebay for $54...

i dont c why thats not a good idea, but i dont know if the gearbox will bolt up from a V6 to the I4 engine allthough it should (SHOULD) be the same bellhousing but i simply have no idea on that.
what i dont understand is.. why not buy a cheap manual to start with and just drive it?

They are an absolute b@st@rd to get if memory serves. I took it a show who had an alright quote for the work and then they had a big whinge when it took a lot longer.

Also, I think the Nolathane bushes tend to tear (or it might be another brand ). Might be worth a bit of research.

taking my car out of first gear it seems to be making a clicking noise as it hits the notch between 2nd and 4th. doesnt happen every time.
had the window down in the garage listening to it and it sounds like a "chink" whenever ith appens.

definately not good.... but is it bad? and what is iit?

v6 and i4 boxes and driveshafts are completely different.

4 vs 5 stud can be done.

tafe has a cert I/II/III (one of those) that does not require and prevocational training. but it is a fulltime course.

I did think that'd be the case, but hoped otherwise

Ahh well.

what if any are the similarities between a zmde and a bpt?
A mate of mine seems to think i could possibly use the mani turbo ecu etc on my engine, modified of course to fit. They think it could be tuned to run 130-140fwkw.....
Is it a lost cause? Coz i can get the parts cheap as.

manifold bolts differently

turbo no problem to use, as only flang needs to be cut and welded.

ecu = not a chance. 1990 sensors are different from 2000 sensors. they give off different readings and the ecu will have a hissy fit.

only the inturnals of the zm engine are similar to a b6.

I have my amp in the boot and attach the ground underneath where the rear speakers sit (I have the Hardtop) but you can mount it to any bolt in the back that is attached to the main chassis. Just use a steel brush to make sure it is a good contact.

whatdo people think i should do....
Part my car out and sell it off to get an s15 or v35?
Keep going with it and turn it into a full showcar? Detailed engine bay, turboed, 19s, coilovers (slammed) and a full custom trim?
If i keep going it will only be to get trophies and another mag feature once complete....

hey guys just wondering about legislation for exterior lighting on a car.I contacted the rta after searching their website and finding nothing this is how the convo went...
me-Hi I have searched the website and can't find any reference to neon lights on exterior of vehicle nothing saying you can and nothing saying you can't. Would like some clarification on this and reference to legislation on this. Please reply as soon as possible. Thank you
rta-Amber,
The NSW Police can take action against you if they deem you are distracting another road user.
me-Just to confirm, so there is nothing like a set standard?
It depends on who the officer is or is it black and white yes/no? Can you please reference to the legislation regarding this.Thank you
rta-Contact the Police, they are the ones who enforce the road rules.
me-They may enforce the rules but the RTA is supposed to legislate these rules and have the documents freely available. Can you please answer the question or forward the enquiry to someone who can.
rta-Amber,I already have, you need to ask the Police.

so anyway i got a lil angry towards the end as you can tell but like i said they should know so I have emailed the nsw police force so will see but did any of you happen to know the answer to my dillemma?

thank you
