Nah, he hasn't listed them - there's a few things like that and the MS skirts that haven't come up for sale.

Not unless you've got a CAMS L2 licence, or have been living there for 12 months and are returning to live.

I want it so badly lol.
What are the implications of cutting them in half?
Does that render them parts only?
I can't see them being taped back together :P

Anything critical in the way is removed so it doesn't get burnt/cut (exhaust/carpet). Each halfcut has to come over in a separate container, as otherwise customs will think you're going to weld it back together.
So yes, parts only, really.

The VIN is recorded on entry and any attempt to register it will be refused. There are different tarfifs for whole cars Vs. cars imported for parts and you can't just pay the difference.

but you could always do the pain staking job of removing everything back to a bare body, refit your aus car with the jap stuff and effectively have a non jap, jap spec car worth little to anyone but you who spent so much time on it...

i do not think you'd need to cut it or require a compeition license, as it cannot be complied/registered anyway in australia? (for parts anywayz).

if you wanted to you it in competition, you'd have to show proof of motorsports involvement and you get special rego/rally rego that allows you do drive from the locatiob of the garage to mechanic within 30km radius, or competiton zone. written proof of involvement in a competition would need to be shown if pulled over by police.

You cannot import a whole car for parts. It's either cut it up or import it as a track-use-only and then use it for parts.

Cutting them stops people importing unregisterable cars and selling them to unsuspecting suckers on e-bay (or similar). This way state rego bodies don't have to fight with dissappointed buyers.

But can't you import a car as a whole if it's over 15years old? Or if you have the importing dealers license?
