If it's long enough and wide enough, you can remove the centre trim around the boot and then where the rubber one gets clamped down (the clamp has 4 screws and the rubber is also clipped in) just clamp the new one in

I got a nice quality leather one from the uk made specifically for our cars.
It's got all the tabs on it so you jus remove Old one and put this one in and secure with staples or ties or glue.
I personally threaded the tabs through, folded them back on themselves and used a leather superglue.

I'll link you if you like next time I'm on the computer.

not to mention pretty sure they are illegal to install unless the car comes with airbag suspension all ready

Simple. Do you remember what you were idling at before?
If so, then turn your car on and let it run for 5 min so it warms up, then when it's warm and the idle is running at normal (not cold start) stick the needle for the tacho where the idle is supposed to be and the temp just below half or wherever it was sitting normally before. Then turn your car of, remove your cluster and put the clear front back on and put everything back together.

What people dont understand is that airbags arent always illegal, just some common practices (eg C-Notching the chassis in Utes) are not allowed. In QLD as long as you can not change the height while driving & is 100mm at its lowest point, you should be fine...
Quote:

Lowering or raising of vehicles
The road clearance of a fully laden vehicle must not be
less than 100mm measured at any part of the vehicle
other than the wheel rim or brake backing plates.
(This does not apply where a lesser clearance has been
specified by the manufacturer.)
When lowering or raising a vehicle body (front or rear),
the following additional restrictions are based on the
manufacturer's dimensions for the standard unmodified
vehicle while unladen:
• The ride height measured between the rubber bump
stop and the corresponding metal stop may be reduced
by no more than one third.
• The rebound travel measured between the rubber
rebound stop and the corresponding metal stop
(or the extension of the shock absorber for vehicles
without a rebound stop) may be reduced by no
more than one third.

• Coil springs are to remain in locating seats on full
suspension droop without forcibly being removed.
In addition, the normal relationship between the front
and rear suspension heights must not be unduly affected.
Replacement springs (shorter or taller) must have the
same or greater load capacity as the original springs.
Suspension coil springs must not be shortened by cutting
or heating. Leaf spring suspensions must not be raised
by the use of extended shackles, adjustable metal plates
or by placing the leaf springs to the opposite side of the
axle. If lowering blocks are used, they must be either
steel or aluminium.

Airbag or air pressurised shock absorber helper springs
may be fitted in addition to the original suspension.
However, replacing some or all of the suspension system
with an air or hydraulic suspension requires specific
approval.

You had to remove needles to put new dial faces on?
I was able to slide over the top, figured it'd be fairly similar for BG.
What Tony said, or borrow a aftermarket tacho and match it.
