start it while in 1st gear and drive by the revs for gear shifts as you do when double clutching (crash box style) i drove my mclaron triumph around for three weeks this way while i waited for replacement clutch parts to arrive as it was my only car at the time.

if it's the sp20 then it uses the brake reservoir.

from my experience, a bad slave cylinder or clutch master cylinder means it won't be long before the other one goes
so replace BOTH the slave cylinder and clutch master cylinder at the same time to avoid headaches! and it's probably a good idea to upgrade the clutch line to a quality stainless steel line too while you're at it if the leak is simply a burst clutch hose, then more the reason to upgrade to a stainless steel line... they forever (if not much longer)... the stock rubber hoses deteriorates with age after all

Put it in first and start it. Once it gets going crunch it up to 4th and get on the M1, drive to Altona then get on the ring road and follow it home. You shouldn't need to change gears once you're on the move untill you're almost home.

I don't know about oz, but over here, it's cheaper to buy a stainless steel hose than to buy the rubber hose from mazda

Only a little bit more expensive to buy a stainless hose. Bout $20 difference.
Definitely worth it. Feels much nicer on the foot, and definitely will last longer. And completely agree with theman, general rule of thumb is to change both If one goes, because the other is never far behind.not as though they are that expensive anyway

how different are the mazda 3 calipers to the mazda 6 for the front?
just got some to fit i think there from the mazda 3 but the lantis ba brake pad seems bigger as the mazda 3 pad has angled bits on the end. any help would be good but the mazda 3 has a little bit bigger piston and whats the size of a mazda 3 or 6 rotor? cba pad top and mazda 3 or 6 one on bottom

dunno for the mazda 6.
in oz, the neo, maxx , sps and diesels use the same caliper, the mps has it own. |

ok with the ba the clutch peddle and the brake peddle are really far off the floor... is there a way i can reset them???? as they move freely for about an inch before there is any resistance from both the clutch or the brake....

did you bleed the brakes and clutch first? do that first, then if there's still a lot of free play, adjust the rod above the pedals... there are jam nuts that you must loosen first
there is a free play spec in the shop manual... the US one floating around should be fine
