Dizzy or Cam Timing?

so i got the motor in the new car and fired it up and it idles a bit **** and feels a bit gutless

i thought timing was out so got a timing light and tried to do the timing, however i can only get the marks to line up when the dizzy is turned all the way to the front of the car, if i put the dizzy near the middle it dies

it idles better fully turned but still feels gutless

i had an issue like this a while ago and i changed the dizzy and it solved the problem

would this be the same case or would the cams not right, i lined the marks up the way the engine workshop manual told me to when i did the timing belt

hoping its the dizzy dont want to have to do the belt with the motor in the car

Mine have always sounded like a sick wrx when one tooth out. Power was woefully bad. Like it felt like you're in 5th when in 3rd.
