Brake & Battery Warning lights flicking on

Just a quick one, was driving home just before and noticed the brake and the battery warning lights flickering on and off.

As its still dark I wasnt able to inspect the engine bay, I had a look in the manual and it says for the Brake warning light it could be that i'm low on Brake fluid.

Or the battery light could have a problem charging etc.

I have a 1996 Mazda 323 BA Astina.

I'll have a look at the brake fluid first thing in the morning.

regulator in mistsubishi alternaotr failing

after seeing it on most mazda's common problem.
Never happens when updated with boasch only battery light comes on but the Mitsubishi unit sends a number of lights up. because the others are current sensitives where as ABs etc are Volatage sensitive

most of the time the 80's to 95 model type Mistubishi units have current problems iwth the regualtors. Yes they do wear the brush units down but the regualtors are 90% of the time what fails.

don't get fooled by the simple volatage test. Get al Auto electrictian to give the alternator A good test. Sometimes it can just be the begining in the middle of the day heat.
I know of 3 cases the alternators never gave a sign. They just stop producing a current and gave constant 12.5 volts and about 10amps enough to keep it going but the battery was dead after any night driving. OR next morning.

bugger and im guessing the only solution is replacement? This was only replaced about 6 months ago, I wonder if it would be covered under warranty.

brake light = check the brake fluid level.
battery = check voltage.

You have a BA which is after the period rodhog is referring to.

Also Brake warning alternator wiring is in much the same loom in the engine bay. Check your connectors and grounds around the back left corner of the engine bay.

I checked the brake fluid level which seems to be fine, so i think there must of been a connection problem. I've been driving around today with my lights on and havnt seen the fault again.
