The 36/1 trigger is within the exhuast cam mounted cmp sensor and not on actual crank right?
I've had a little trouble locating one, it would make configuring a little easier on the brain though

I'd been led to believe on 94/97 mx5s' the cmp sensor had one toothed wheel for cam and another for crank signal.
Curse you internet..

Edit: further investigation suggests some models of mx5's used a sensor on intake cam and one on crank, and others the exhuast cam mounted cmp sensor contained both trigger wheels and no crank sensor.
Seeing as i have three spare dizzys and no cmp sensor, i might butcher one to get it running and then reconfigure to more accurate setup later.
Andy pointed out that it will take more revo's to fire but still will work.
Sorry to splodge up your thread, if i can work it out i'll be sure to help you out. (but you got the iceman on your team)

Correct as the trigger would be coming from the mx5 crank and cam sensors.

They use a 36 tooth wheel with 1 missing tooth. And a cam sensor which also has a missing tooth. AFAIK I know anyways.

Supermiata make a press on crank pulley and trigger wheel.
Also the ATI crank pulley. Both need specialized tools to fit.
Also ROSS make a pretty exy one for bp.

so today i was able to get some more work done on the BA motor. The other week i ordered a MX5 NB oil pump, and Water pump. The MX5 water pump had to be drilled for accommodate the oil dip stick. as seen below it really wasn't a hard job to do.

this is how the motor sits before i started on it today.

SO i found out today that the water pumps on the BP motors do change.

as you can see in the above pictures the Block on the BP motor chances when they go to a BA series 323. they put a tap and thread in the block to accommodate the tensioner for the timing belt. the older BP and BPT motor blocks dont have this and have a tapped hole on the water pump as shown in one of the photos above as i still have the old water pump off my BPT block.

So i have ordered a new waterpump. going to keep the other waterpump for the BP build for the BF 323.

Also so ordered a mx5 Crank angle sensor, bracket, zm-de trigger wheel. so all i have to do now is mount my BPT dizzy (with no cap on it as i'll be running coil packs so wont need leads from the dizzy)

so all i have to do now is buy my ecu and loom and wire it up. i have everything else (except injectors)

actually talking injectors looking at going 1200cc's as then i can use them when i go E85. what does everyone think about that??

Correct.

91% Duty @ 750cc
85.something recurring @ 800cc

Feel free to check my maths. Ensure you use a proper calculator though. Most are retarded.

Yup, what project.r said. Also rubber mallet helps distribute the force more universally if you hit it on a slight angle.
