Lowering

hi guys, im looking at lowering my BG astina. I only want to lower by about 2-3cms. What sort of springs should i get?..brand and where to buy and approximately how much they would cost me?
Also, can i use the stock shockies with lower springs?

You can use stock shocks if you wish, and could use King Springs on your ride to drop it about 30mm. There are other brands out there too.

Most places that do suspension, or places like Donnellans, The Tyre Factory etc, even Autobarn should be able to locate them for you.

If I get 2" king springs (that I have seen second hand) is that exactly how much it will lower the car no adjustment possible??

I too only want about 3cm's and was wondering is there something you can do to the 2"/5cm springs so they only lower 1."

yours sincerly
The King of Wishfull Thinking

more I think about it more I doubt it,
but they would have to make them in a vast array of sizes?? wouldn't they???

hey guys what is the reasoning for only wanting to lower your car 2-3cm??? i have lowered my BG 2"/5cm and have had no problems and i have 17" wheels on it..i did have to get tha rear guards rolled..

I only went 30mm as I regularly compeated in Motorkhana and didn't want any restrictions on where I drove. I don't believe the 50mm would've been any stiffer nor would it give a serious handling benifit beyond lowering the CG a poofteenth and that can be more than compensated for in driving style.
If all you are concerned with is looks then lower to your hearts content

I got king low spring (30mm) and KYB sport shock on my Astina and they are awsome....handles like a gem and still has a comfortable ride...my friend has teh superlow kings and the only advantage he ahs is looks.....if anything mine handles better and clears speed humps

mine has 35mm lowering springs and 17" wheels and i didn`t have to roll the arches. mazdabator, you must have got the wrong offset on your wheels or have you got 215 wide tyres? :?
take into account that the springs currently on your car may have been there a while and therefore will have settled or sagged a bit in that time.
i use standard shocks with mine which are fine, but the car is stiffer due to the uprated springs, and i defo noticed a huge improvement in the handling.

215 with 35 mm lowering make the tyres sob in the rear guards while having passengers in the back seat while pushing the car abit.

u have to roll em a cm...

The reason I want to lower is handleing and a little bit of looks,

BUT Sydney roads being what they are pot hole infested in most places, speed bump ridden in the others I am understandbly (I think) catious. So I am little worried about leaving pieces of my car all about the place. I have spoken some one (?Grim??) who had the same car as mine and he lower 2” and used to have to be quite careful over speedbumps, see speed bumps already piss me off and if I have to slow down even more hmm is it worth it ??
Also of major concern is the whopping big chasm’s that appear every so often, coming around a corner to see one of the beasts lurking on the road ahead with nothing to do but slam breaks and hope or go over and hear some hurtfull sounds.

A Mate a work has a slightly lowered integra and I can hear him leave from inside , it ainty a pretty sound.

Anyone know how much you can drop an 96 Hardtop before it breaks the RTA 10cm rule (no part lower than).
