Here is a quick copy and paste list of the modification status of the car.

Modifications:

Mazda GTR Gearbox (Bullet proof gearbox) Close ratio Rally spec.
3 Inch turbo back exhuast
HKS electronic boost controller
Tinted windows
Momo corse steering wheel
Clarion cd player (200watt)
Custom speaker surrounds on rear parcel shelf (6/9's)

that list is exactly how roger listed it...i swear...if it is his only one sorry to hear...

I had an in-depth read of the above and i do not see what the fuss is about. From my analysis point of view, those problems highlighted by members here is not correct. So i'm happy and glad. If the car or any car had issues as described, i would not buy the car.

It's OK mate. If you get any major problems with the turbo and such, we're here to help.

I like the steelies, please don't toss them! :D

The car comes with steel rims.

Yeah oath, goes really quick, heaps of pull and handles great. Best buy ever.

BTW: How'd you stumble onto to AstinaGT so quickly after getting the car? Cause it's not an Astina after all. :p

Feel sorry for you mate for buying a lemon.
That car has quite a history.

They were known for being trouble 10 years ago when I lived in NZ and this car is now 20 years old and has a rather nasty history

Have a good read on the forums and you will see why.

The things alleged in that link is pretty much a laughing joke.

So just to let you know, i wont be answering anymore worthless questions like "does it boost good" or "do you hear any strange noises".

As the proud owner of the car, i have the final say about it and what was described in that link is utter nonsesne.

People are tyring to confirm themselves about the cars status. Do they own the car, no. So they cannot say that its experiencing this or that. Who owns the car, i do, so i aint going to confirm anything that isn't happening.


Are people just guessing or are they just wishing what they say is true. Pretty bizzare behavior.

Who do you people think you are trying to presume what is needed. Nothing is needed. I'm sure you will take this very hard, because afterall, your the ones that wasted time in that 5 page thread. Your hopes were high for nothing.

noone wasted time we were poking fun at certain aspecs of the add and the fact that the seller tried to sell the car on here (as well as onther forums) for months eachtime lowering the price. there is over 1000 years of colective knowledge and experience when it comes to mazda on this forum.. thats quite a bit more than what the seller knew

May i just clarify that i have not dissed the knowledge content of the forum and its members.


My argument is that people insist that my car has so called issues. Well it doesnt. Now is that clear!.

I have limited knowledge about cars and I got myself a BA astina with a lot of problems... Good to know that your car has no issues... Anyway enjoy your stay and love this forum xD

these forums have been a lifesaver, the reason why i decided to buy a mazda. super reliable, just keep checking that oil... i know for a fact though, 4-5 months without oil and they still work well... well as long as the person behind you has a mask on hehehe..

Please dont think that way about your car.

You have just bought a 20 yr old car car, there is no way a car that is that old cannot have issues.
You show me someone who owns a 20 year old car with no faults and i will show you a liar.
My current car is 7 yrs old and has its own issues and I bought it new and have serviced it every 10000km or less.

Your car was advertised (if thats what you can call Todgers Ebay ad) as having many faults so my best suggestion is get a very good mechanic that knows a lot about familias or at least some one very familiar with Laser GTX's to fully inspect the car from top to bottom.
Chances are being a well used jap import is could have been imported as a wreck like a lot were.
No matter what it has been thrashed and I would hate to think what horrendous things the previous owner subjected that car to.

It appears this is the infamous 'RC' GTX and all I've heard about this car is rumor and hearsay. How about we give NewGTXowner the benefit of the doubt and in return if there is something we can help him/her with we can do it with an open mind.

:)WELCOME and I am Sorry mate:( but unless you have changed the gearbox since you bought the car I can tell you it is not the close ratio rally spec box.:mad: Sorry that he told you it was:mad:. It has the same ratios as my GT-R gearbox not the ratios from the GT-Ae again:eek: Sorry. I am new here too and you will find the people here very friendly, truthful and most importantly VERY HELPFUL:):)
