Hi there I have a 94 ba Astina with 1.8 Dohc turbo in her and I blew 3rd the other night , now I've heard there is two types of boxes a g-series and a f-series
, my query is , is the g-series box out of a bg Astina the same as the ba ? Or does anyone know the specific gearbox numbers Id be after I've heard its a g5m01 ? And lastly does any one in perth have a box like this or know where I could find one


And a brief run down on how to remove the box would be awesome thanks

BG and BA G-series boxes are different. BA is better, and BJ/SP20 box is slightly better again - but you'll need to mess with the length of driveshafts then.

What do you have - a BA or BG?

Hey, i have a very good condition g5m01 gearbox you can have for $300. I'd throw in the correct shafts( less than 5000km on them) for a ba astina and a good exedy hd clutch/lightened flywheel. The catch is i'm over on N.S.W. north coast and freight would suck.
It came from a ford laser lynx which reputedly had a factory lsd.

It's a ba I've just paid 450 for a Box from the wreckers :( if I blow another box I'll be interested haha
