Hi All,
My first post on this forum - I'm glad you are out there
Yesterday I was out in the lovely cool rain in my V6 BA hardtop when I found myself in a hard braking situation which engaged the ABS for the first time in a long time.
As I arrived at work I found the clutch to be getting soft or "light on" and eventually The pedal just stayed on the floor and I couldn't change gear.
In the arvo the clutch seemed OK for the first few applications but it again started getting soft and I just manged to get 3rd gear before the pedal stayed down.
I managed to get to a garage, pulled the lever into the Neutral and coasted into the carpark of my local ABS workshop just on closing time. Phew!
There is no evidence of hydraulic leakage and the reservoir is still full, yet it seems that I have got air in the clutch hydraulics.
Does anyone know if activating the ABS can cause problems with the Clutch? It just seems to me to be an awfully big coincidence that the clutch should give out just after the ABS has been activated for the first time in a long while.
Any thoughts
Jean-Pierre
