Dyno Results

Hi All,

Had the car on the rollers this weekend and got the following fiqures from it. Not bad taking into mind that the motor is running stock internals with the Turbo set up

153kw's
300nm torque

I am happy with this for now need to tweak the management to get some more ponies from it.

Thats impressive. Is the BPt motor from the GTX? please advise

The difference is that he is running 1 bar boost (14psi) and I am running 0.5 bar boost, reason for this is that i still use the Standard 1.8Astina motor and F series gearbox.

Need to get the internals worked and a Gseries box to get some decent power from it. Also need to get the management fitted and tuned.

I am happy for the time being.

So how much power do u estimate i can get out of this BA Astina motor.

Are these figures good for a BA motor?

the sky is the limit with power figures - you could easily get 220kw at the wheels but the internals would last about a 2 weeks i think.

i have driven a 250kW BG sedan GTR which has had 3 rebuilds in it's life time.

153kW is awesome for a stock BP motor. but i'd suggest replacing the pistons asap before the shatter them and send the rods into the block creating a 2 inch hole.

Yeah you have to suffer for speed don't you!!!

The car has done like 106 000km's now so far so good. First time on the dyno as well.

I want to build my 89 323 2.0i into a beast to be reckoned with. Guys is SA are running like 350kw's plus on these motors. The envy of all the racers in SA. We have all sorts of cars (VW/Opel/Toyota) with 2.0 litre Mazda motors running in it. In SA we say that these motors were designed for Turbo's and Nos. Buddy has stock internal on his and is running 14psi with no mishaps as yet (200 000km's)on the engine already

They look similar to the BPT motor same head (visually) but it is a 2.0 litre motor.

The guys that run power in the access of 250kw's have gedrag 6 speed gearbox's fitted to their 323's.

I will serch for one of the okes url's and post it for more info.

Currently the fastest 323 2.0 16v Turbo powered vehicle in SA belongs to Louis Lima with a 1/4 mile time of about 8.7 seconds but it is a full drag set up

Yeah I think he ment HP...ROFL. That power is just not possible with a stock turbo. I'm making 10kw more with all my mods. lol

And even if there was a dyno sheet, i still wouldn't belive it.

Has anybody tried running the BA motor with a turbo set up in AUS.

My machi has a BP motor in his car and is car makes loads of power but he only comes past me from 4th gear. He is running a 323 FE gearbox same 1 i have in my 89" 323.

The BA motor has loads of low end torque.

I got a 40nm torque increase when I changed the downpipe and exhaust.

BA has loads of potential if only the gearbox was stronger

the BA motor is very similar to a gtx or gtr engine, except attached hairdryers and internals.

turboing a BA motor in Aus? do you mean turbo a n/a engine?

Hey Bro, I'm from Durban SA. I'd love to get a Rustler Bakkie over here to fit my BPT to. Those FE3 engine with a turbo are great though. I love Louis new black rustler....its nutz. And I've got the video of his blue bakkie tearing down the strip.

....I'm with Rob on the 185kW. No way in hell could you get that with stock turbo (unless maybe you were on some ghey USA dyno).

Yeah fitting a turbo to a stock Ba motor just lowering the compression.

Quick Silver those bakkies are a rare find have been looking for a shell for about 2 years now. Still nothing as yet.
Think you should rather send that BPT to me so that I can fit it to my car
