HiTech should cost no more than $400, Pacemaker maybe around $450, Wildcat I'm not sure about. But if $480 is Pacemakers AND fitted, it's very good. But as good as Pacemakers are, they are still only mild steel...

on my KJ 1.8 (same horse different jockey) I did 2" crush bent mild steel from the cat back, hi flow cat and Hurricane Headers.

I found quite a difference power come in early is quicker then the Lynx off the mark till the Lynx hits boost. and get good power and acceleration to the 7500rpm rev limiter.

and cost me just over $700 for all of it

if the KJ is a BJ, the exhaust is already 2" crush bent. I think if you're going to pay good money to upgrade the exhaust, you might aswell go another 1/4" in s/s...
I went another 1/4" in mandrel, seems to work very well in the manual, I might lose some power, but it feels stronger than it did (well after 2 weeks it finally did). It seems to pick up at 1500rpm on POT and then again at 4500rpm on WOT...

Yeah, HiTech are the cheapest you can get, but there's a reason for that...

A certain person with a COMPLETE HiTech system (headers+2.25" mandrel exhaust=$1500) on the 1.8 only got 67kW (shootout3) atw with all that! The 1.8 puts out 62-63kW (shootout4) atw stock!
I've got OBX headers and a custom 2.25" mandrel bent exhaust and put out closer to 75kW (projected shootout4) atw, that cost me a little over $1400...
Pacemaker headers will develop more peak power than my OBX will do. But the OBX hasn't lost me power anywhere as far as I can tell.

wouldnt the power be based on the bends of the pipes? like as soon as the engine starts the pipes gonna be lined with crap. i heard pacemakers have better joins in them like which make it smooth inside the pipes

cannon mufflers are for turbo cars, im about to pay $140 to get a highflow sports muffler which is glass packed instead of steel wool
steel wool mufflers are supposed to actually be quieter, but yea cannons arnt that nice, look good but thats it

HI-RES: I've said a few times that it seems like offset oval mufflers are the best option since that's what the best cat-back manufacturers are all using. Obviously there are a couple of different types of offset mufflers, I couldn't be bothered looking up which one is the go, but they are different from one manufacturer to another anyway, so you'd need to ask your exhaust specialist for what suits your budget...

Andrew: I wouldn't say canons are particulary for turbos, Anton up here has a turbo version of my car, and it still sounds sort of like an NA out the back, but pretty quiet in comparison considering he has a 5" tip! I only have a canon because it was cheap.

But I am looking to get a Magnaflow to replace the canon, I don't know how much it will be, but if it's outrageous I'll get a Lukey or Genie...

Just remember that a turbos exhaust will always be quieter than a NA system due to the turbos blades absorbing the sound vibrations and turning more into heat and then theres a smaller % left for exiting through the tip.
Dont get caught up with comparasins between any of the two systems as they need to be treated completely different. Just remember the two factors with an NA exhaust are back pressure and exhaust pulse-wave neither are really a consideration with the TC exhaust
