prove what your time will be interesting all the same
If you wanna know about V6 MX6's (ZE's in particular ie: I owned 1 a short while back) PM me what weight (kerb weight) do you carry btw? The MX6 V6 is 1260kg kerb if I recall? Handles excellent too. Much more a corners car (track) than a drag car that's for sure. P.S. my bad.....you noted your weight in your sig silly me. Well that's 135 less kg's. Nice p-to-w!

Demanius. Your engine was taken from the early J-Spec V6 MX6's mate
The first model V6 MX6's were sold here in 92' as 4WS cars with excellent handling ability due to 4WS & their near neutral weight distribution. Drive one & you'll quickly see what I'm talking about As far as I know the ZE was never offered on Australian delivered vehicles but only in Japan (JDM J-Spec models) . A long while ago now folk were buying the ZE engines from import yards all over the country but nowdays, it's hard to get a low mileage one @ a reasonable price. You can still do alright if you know where to get em Don't get me wrong! Brilliant response, especially the DE (yes DE......ZE's give top-end torque/response, starting to work @ 42-4500rpm due to cams; longer inlet runners & longer inlet port to TB & J-Spec ECU/MAF =JE50 from memory? I've sold a few myself) You ncan run a ZE with DE (stock) ECU but it WILL run rich! DE's are still quick down low but calmer up top. The best way to get hp from these is to turbocharge these. 1 member on MX6.com has done this & pulls about 175oddfwkw with conservative boost around I think 7-8psi? Engine is a DE from memory. The less aggressive DE cams work better with boosting. Word of advice. Nothings easy nor necessarily cheap when modding these 2.5L engines to get any decent hp. A stock ZE will only produce about 115fwkw with extractors & bigger injectors? Again. If you really do have a ZE (gimme some good pics of your engine bay & number on main ECU & I could tell you straight away), due to your excellent kerb weight, you will have a nice quick stock car All aluminium engine adds to light weight of vehicle. Be happy with that man

no problem, i will get the pictures of my engine bay. ecu is in the dash, have to rip the stereo out grr.
My cousin still has warranty on engine, has 55,000kms on it. yes my first cousin, mechanic is adamant that i should stick with N/A it doesnt need the turbo or supercharger. he did the work, ripped out the KF-ZE. The engine, is marked in pink writing KL-V6 too Its JDM, Spec. got for 1900-2000 dollars with ecu if can remember. from importers I will do the pictures tonight, buddies.

Don't worry about the ECU then. Not worth the trouble man. Sounds good! Btw, it could well have the 'curved neck' inlet manifold too & if your cousin has pruchased/installed it I'm sure it would be the real deal. Don't see why not?

Yeah the inlet manifold is the ZE manifold dude!
Just for your information. Have a look @ markings on each head, just below rocker cover gaskets. KLZE will be marked KL31 101 or KL36 101 whilst, KLDE will be marked KL03. This is the only way I know to tell you have the engine for sure. Not completely sure about the FE engine though I'm sorry

Yeh, there is not alot of room to work with, but it fits in nicely, due to high compression, and the 5000 dollar plus tag of turbo or supercharging it, i will leave it N/A im not that crazy to blow the engine.
Maybe new valve springs, and forged higher compression internals will be better lol? ahh, i leave it haha

uhm.....no, don't bother with valve springs & forged. Your looking the other way again haha. The ZE probably has stronger springs. I can't remember. Forged internals are only necessary if you wanted to boost the thing & run high boost to gain hp & > 1/4 mile times. Compression is already > 10:1 so pointless going higher unless you want big hp. See? You are heading in the wrong way again because you will be spending $$$$'s with little hp improvement. Essentially building a strong engine for nothing. Besides, turboing would be the less expensive option, even @ a conservative boost, with much greater hp potential bang-for-buck. That's what clever modification is all about. Do you catch me?

From my calculations.. If it's 150kw at the fly, with 20% drivetrain loss thats about 120kw. Althought I think drivetrain loss for a fwd is between 20-30% so that would be around 105-110kw atw

woudn it be 15 per cent loss, thought the advantage of fwd is small connection to the wheels, comparing to rwd. which is longer drive line.
i maybe wrong. i think my car is 160 to 165kw at flywheel, i have to get it dynod, for sure. will do that next friday.

Get it dyno'd then least you know what it is, because an engine that was from factory 160kw as you claim due to wear and tear will lose power as it ages.
my Source - Wikipedia (always reliable) Engine choice was the KL-ZE 2.5 DOHC V6 making 200 bhp (150 kW), a high compression version of the KL-DE, or the KF-ZE 2.0 DOHC V6 making 159 bhp (119 kW), all of the K series engines in the MX6 were based on the same engine block and included those found in the Ford Probe, Xedos 6 and MX-3 V6 models.. The KLZE had appromixately 40 more horsepower than the KLDE versions for a few reasons.
