Well you must have a very different set of wiring to me because m one is nothing like it..
The colors don’t match and of course a MAF actually does different things to a vaf. .
Have a look 2 the wiring diagrams for the maf.
But if you can work something out please let me know I’d love to fit the mx ECU and VAF
this is for KLDE the MX6

and this is for the K8 astina

the only other thing to swap over is the thermostat housing..

Look very similar. 1 line to the EGRPS and TPS, 1 intake temp, 1 flow sensor and 2 grounds.

Check the resitance produced by both the MAF and VAF - if that checks out to be the same then you should be able to splice the MAF wiring into the VAF plug.

In the case of the sensor, its using the same ecu pins on both types of engines, but whether or not the ecu's match up pin for pin I cant say as you dont have the pin listings for both motors.

just out of curiosity, what flywheel etc did you have to use?

as i have a vague memory of you having to use a different one with your (or maybe it was someone elses - bajawes?) mx6 conversion...

The one I put on the KLDE (2.5) is the KF01 from the astina originally.. I replaced the clutch for a Dakin Excedy heavy duty..

When I did the KLZE swap into the MX6 I used the fly wheel from a Eunos 30x..

But in both occasions it was not from necessity, but an effort basically to fit a lighter than stock one ..IE a performance mod… but you can fit all of them they are basically the same .. only the back is lighter.. (Less metal./K.Gs... )

this is the standard KLDE fly...

notice all the extra metal on the back ..
the pick of the litter would be the K801.. but the KF01 is good as well

Ive decided to try and get the KLDE ECU and Vaf in and running.. so I’m still desperately wanting a pin out diagram for the KF..
Has any one got one?

Mr MX6 or other members....

Wondering how is the result of your transplant..appreciate if you can give pointers and things to look out for because i plan to do something simillar.
use KF ecu and engine wiring with KL engine. The difference i saw is the KL air flow sensor is different, so plan to use the KF one. However i heard that you cannot get the full potential of the KL engine with this setup. To get the full potential you have to fool the KF ecu with a piggy back engine management unit to remap the air flow etc etc...
i still in the planning stage..your advice is appreciated. Thanks...

Hey I want to stick a KLDE into my BA 323 Astina which has the KFDE. As I am not really mechanically minded at all I am wondering how much I would be looking at to get an engine and gearbox and how much it should cost to get the transplant done?
