Some Further Progress
Few progress pics of sorting everything out. Pics from couple days ago.
Once everything is finished and running mint as the engine and gearbox will be ripped out the car. Painting the engine bay and then the engine will be put back in, all nicely painted up with Speedflow lines and Chrome HPC coating. Will look all bling bling for a couple days hahaah - then its off to the drags. |

Its a GT2540 Turbo looks very at home there. http://www.streetdreams.wirednow.net...asp?prodID=339 (shameless plug) The Honda manifold welded up nicely will think of that if I ever redo my manifold. Whats with the bottom pic is the turbo dummied up on your old manifold or do you have 2manifolds to choose from ??? Keep us posted never get tired of pics of your engine bay

Nah, that Manifold was not the right choice to chop up. Was a bit of a mission. Its getting there though. I should have done something different with the radiator though.

Yeah, I'll need a tune up with new 550cc injectors. No point racing it now. But I'll be out there soon doing some huge burnouts on new LSD box.....YAY

I wish I could go, but I will be away with work blowing up mountains.
Still, need the money, and feild allowance is gooood. back on topic: Thats a meaty radiator too. I need to investigate in more cooling options, mines still overheating on the really long high RPM runs. I think removal of the aircon allowing more airflow to the radiator is in order. And that turbo is HUGE! What lag do you expect on it? |

Its not super responsive like the vf22 was but it still boosts OK. It starts spooling before 3000rpm and makes good boost at 4000rpm. It still pulls on low boost though. I've just purchased a new Turbosmart Plumback BOV and a Turbosmart Wastegate (at good price) - Both are deep blue to match the bay.
The radaitor works a treat. My car has been idling high at 1300rpm and the old radiator would overheat hard. The new one seems to hold its own even at this RPM and on the highway it cools bery well. (And all i have fitted to it is a little aricon can on the front (half of radaitor).......I can't fit a large one) Few more things to do on the bay before it all gets pulled out. Forged Pistons are paid for and ordered. GTR Rods have arrived LSD and Short Ratio Gears are ready to rumble, just waiting to order a straight cut 3rd gear. Just have to buy all the other engine internal bits - Bearings, Metal Head Gasket etc. ...and some street slicks before jambo (oneday some new suspension) |
