Annnnnnnddddddd Theyre ON!!!

So while i was putting them on I noticed that my old tail lights had 3 holes in them for brake, indicator and reverse, and my new ones have 4 holes, brake, indicator, reverse and probably fog on the bottom.

I had a look at my harness and it looks like it has had the old snip before probably removing the connectors etc for the original lights can anyone confirm that there are 4 plugs on a standard harness?
My brake light globe has 2 filaments in it one for brake and one for parker. By the looks like it I dont have a rear fog light.

Already had this discussion with bikingpro.
No fog lights in JDM tails.
Top is brake/Parker
Bottom is Parker. Then reverse and blinkers like normal.

So only difference is the added Parker only light at the bottom.

Lights look good man. Going to have to break them so I am the only one with them

Aww darn it, thought there would have been a light in there but oh well, another problem i have with them is the light sockets
dont lock in there at they are a bit smaller so i have them being held in with duct tape so they dont fall out and also keep any moisture out

you'll have to get the BJ1 wiring harness for them.
with the bay15 globes, i'm assuming yours are the T20 wedge globes, and then just splice in to the top parker globe and get another socket and wire in a parker for the bottem section like i did

mazda for sure don't know how much it would be and then if not a wrecker will have it for sure, and the it just unplugs right before all the wires split up to go to each globe so easy as

The JDM tails are Identical to the stock sp20 ones. Only difference is that there is an extra globe on each paralleled to the top lights.

Does yours have the provisions for fitting a globe into the bottom hammo??

Mine are like these ones but my harness only has 3 lights on it instead of 4

So mine goes like this

Brake/Parker
Reverse on inside/ Indicator on outside
Empty.

But is there a provision there in the tail light to fit a bottom globe??
Like is there a globe holder in the bottom?
Or is it sealed like the original sp20 ones?

Nah its not sealed you can definitely put a globe in there ive currently got it covered with duct tape
to prevent moisture getting in, but my harness isn't like the one above, would be nice to make the bottom part my parkers

Well doubt you would be able to just buy the JDM harness from the auctions or Mazda. So you are just going to have to modify the existing harness. (Splice)
Should just run a Dual filament globe in the bottom as well, and jut get the globe holder out of a wreck from the top light.

Wouldn't recommend earthing to the chassis for your negative. Asking for issues lanter on.
You are already splicing the positive for the Parker... Why not just splice the Negative for the Parker too and do it properly. Lol
Spend 5 mins longer now and potentially (little pun for Ryan ) save yourself pulling them out later. Earthing to the body would be ok. But for small CSA conductors with a tiny contact area to the body. I don't like doing it. Likely to break... And turns into an absolutely rubbish earth after 12months lol.

So yeh, just wire it up properly and hae a neat and tidy harness.

Hence why I said to use the dual filament on the bottom globe!

Can get the socket from the top socket of any BJ and will fit into the bottom.

Then just wire it in. Would be nicer IMO with dual filaments top and bottom anyway.

yer i just ran a double filament uni fit socket for mine and then spliced in to the top parker positive and neg and just left the brake wire blank if that makes sence so wired everything up except for the brake light power so it just just becomes a single filament globe but only run the parker power supply to it, other wise if you run a single filament globe it'll be as bright as the brake light globe all the time
