What's STandard?

Hey would you guys know if an AIRBAG is standard in the Mazda Astina 95 BA model (1.8l DOHC)? And also, my car hasn't the standard steering wheel and thus no airbag, if an airbag IS standard, would I still be able to get roadworthy without an airbag?

Alex

airbags weren't standard on the 1.8 BA model

if airbags ARE standard, then it wouldn't be roadworthy without one, so i've been told. but you don't have to worry as the 1.8 BA didn't come standard with airbags. =)

tiniest bit off topic, but the V6 BA's came with two (driver and passenger) as standard. 1.8s have a top glovebox type thing where the V6's have the passenger airbag.

They became standard fitment I believe in 1997 models - yours should have an airbag diagram in the sunvisor or glovebox if your car had been fitted with one, they normally have some sort of warning about airbag deployment.

Yeah they were an option in the BA Astinas till november 97 thats when they became standard So if you have a model b4 this date and have an airbag you can remove it without any legallity probs i believe
And because lucky me has a december 97m im stuck with the airbag steering wheel and cant remove it unless i wana void my insurance
