Ok, did a little bit more google'ing and it appears my current plug is in between NGK's 5 and 6. I'd rather they be a bit cold than too hot, so I'll stick with the heat 6...

Will do so hopefully tonight

Need to buy a new spark plug tool to get the plugs out. They sit to deep into the engine, so I'm visiting an ayutoshop near me tonight:-)

yep will be via eft into my bank a/c or credit card to my paypal account (which will be + 4% (paypal fees) and in us dollars). when confirmation is received on the 4 we're waiting on, i'll start to collect payment. not really fair for everyone to start paying now when you could be waiting a while.

Well it's pay day and I now own a nice new shiny long handled spark plug remover

Have checked all 4 plugs and they appear to be running OK, therefore I will stick with my original order of 4 x BKR5EIX-11, thanks!

Also found these two charts for interpreting NGK and Denso plugs:

http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/technical/ngkjpg.htm

http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/t...l/densojpg.htm

Also Chipa the owners manual for the BA I have recommends the NGK heat 5 or the Denso heat 16

other way around - 7 heat will be better for a highly tuned/turbo application, for example, whereas mazda actually says 5/6 for most NA cars

umm and sorry if i'm gonna throw a spanner in the works here, but the 1.8 litre engine i think has a different thread, as my dads has ZF plugs
