just mount the ballast straight onto the radiator support ;) under the headlight...im sure there will be space...youll need a drill though...

Plutonus 20-08-2008 03:40 PM

I think you missed the question :(

I have found holes to screw it in to place, I just cant figure out how to attach the ballast to the bracket used for screwing it into place.

bourbon 20-08-2008 03:45 PM

what i said was dont use the bracket...so just screw the ballast straight to the car...i didnt use brackets for my ballast...

My question is, if i want to lower my BA hardtop about 40mm, can i use coilovers and stock shocks, or do i need to upgrade shocks too?
and do i need to roll guards, and will the women go crazy for me?

and who thinks ms-03s look better on my car in person? come on i know u do!

bourbon 20-08-2008 04:40 PM

coil overs are a complete unit...cant do coil oves as well as stock shocks...its one or the other...what are you going to be using the car for???

and the chicks will go crazy for you if you have a fully sick BG astina noble green with sparkels in the paint and on gold 18s :p hahaha

Putonyourshoes 20-08-2008 04:56 PM

Coilover = threaded shock with a spring on a height adjustable perch
Normal = strut-type fixed height shock with conventional spring

Oh ok, well I overcame my spastic-ness and they are now installed! Oddly enough, red wires to black wires (and vice versa) on one side, and red wires to red wires (Black to black) on the other side! Bit of nice change.

Google is your friend

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coilover

Google is my friend :D
But my local repco isnt, i get staff discount there, but they said their supplier doesn't have any coilovers off the shelf and im looking at $1800 a pair for custom coilovers and they need my struts for a week to do it...

Do they exist specially designed for the BA or do they have to be custom made, is it astinaboi that can get hold of them as well?

EDIT: Also a rear strut brace, needed along with a front one? And i have my amps screwed to the back of the back seats, will they still fit with a rear brace in, does anyone have pictures?

Rupewrecht 21-08-2008 11:01 AM

No need for a rear strut brace - you've got a metal parcel shelf. Too much metal to cut if you did want to install one anyway

Plenty of coilovers exist for BA - D2, JIC, Aragosta, Pedders, Racing Logic.

They'd be Koni's that your referring to, where they use your struts and make them into custom coilovers, I got a quote from Fulcrum in Moorooka a couple years ago and they were something like $2500!!

When you rang on the weekend, I was referring to ryan selling them (GB link here), just not sure if he's still doing it, best to PM him :D

LOL, told you your question would be answered on here :p:p

Theres also G4 coilovers. Give JustJap a call, they stock D2 and G4 branded ones. Maybe they might have it for the BA

www.justjap.com

gtarone 21-08-2008 01:50 PM

Rang JustJap, said they have what im after, $1199. So should it be the correct product if its for a BA 323 Astina 97? i would assume thats all they need to match it up correctly.

Anyone with the down low about police operations? Saw easily 20+ highway patrol vehicles in Ballina today, with at least 10+ bikes.

Could someone please photoshop these wheels onto my car for me to see how they look. Ive been considering getting some super light weights and these may be in my budget

Are there any other decently priced super light wheels in the market besides these and buddyclub P1s

you may be able to jag a set of second hand Volk TE37s ... they are about as light as things come.... speak to rupewrech to see if he can get something in his next container of JDM stuff or something?

BSA does a cheap knock-off of TE37's, ask Bourbon, he's got a gold set on his BG...

cheap knockoffs generally don't equal light weight....they may look the part but i'd SUGGEST they are considerably heavier than their genuine forged aluminium counter parts..
