no no no no......your worrying about nothing, I'll be doing the GT up. Just that those GTR's are friggin grunty & rare. I thought they were the bees knees of 323's?

why do the tabloids rave bout' them as the 323 powerplant etc. One guy was trying to sell his recently, a black one for 5500, sounded bit dodgby though to me. He was bagging the B6T's. Real Salesman! Do you reckon the B6T's are better to mod?

Nah, BPTs and BPDs are better to mod all the way! But regardless, this is where I love to point out what motor is under the bonnet of the fastest Laser (call it a 323) in Australia.

Yeah, but you have to put up with 4WD in the KF/KH/BG model turbos.

Exact reason Gungadeer why I purchased mine! 2WD as apposed to the 4WD that was being offered, no comparison
![]() The only thing I would do with a GTR would be to restore it, not use motor due to 4WD gearbox & $$$ & hassles that go with it! I wouldn't do an engine/harness swap, oh shizzie no ![]() P.S. what a hero of ours with that Laser ey? yeeeeaaahhhh!

Rocketman from 323 reckons the CorkSport will fit on OK so, if I use it on the VJ14, should be a simple option for now right? For arguements sake though, if I am putting the hybrid on up ahead, would the BPT dump be the wisest move or will the CorkSport be OK when time comes for the swap?

You will always get more performance out of the split CS dump. But you will lose your AC for luxury of another 10whp or so.

Thanks again Gav, decisions decisions! Also, I've been told the CS won't clear sump without mods, even a plate isn't enough + I will have to lose Air Con! True?
That would mean: Mod CS Remove A/Con = pina already ![]() Seems then that I really should get the BPT dump if I can find one!

Upgrade paths:
1. VJ14/VF10 hybrid with custom coolant lines, and BPT dump pipe. Option of presseing 2" s/s pipe into snout of compressor to reuse the stock J pipe and IC plumbing. I Suggest a small dual pass FMIC or CS SMIC with 2" s/s IC plumbing. 2. GT2560 with spaghetti or cast exhaust manifold and custom split dump pipe. Use with medium FMIC and 2.5" s/s IC plumbing. 3. GT2871 with spaghetti exhaust manifold and custom split dump pipe. Used with JDM intake runners and custom side-feed plenum and upgraded throttle body. Needs larger FMIC and full 2.5" s/s IC plumbing. I think is more for a serious engine build involving cams and stroke/overbore. Gav. |

I'll probably do a bit to the little beasty, I just gotta get used to the old-school interior ![]() ![]() I'm pissed off so bad with Exhaust shop that butchered my cat-back piping. When installing pipe/muffler,hotdogs etc, he loosened the flange to the cat & so it leaks bad, he said it would settle in a few days, well, been over a week & it aint settling! Sounds **** & running real bad. He won't be getting the front pipe job now, I'll be getting someone else ![]() Should have my new wheels Mon or Tues @ latest. I'll put up a pic, so excited to find cool 16", one cool thing so far anyway ![]()
