good work, but next time you need to practise proper safety when working underneath a car!

your jack stand placements were wrong in the back and you didn't use them in the front!
I'm glad nobody got hurt!

google some pics/tips on proper jack stand usage

Send a message via ICQ to JDM323
it's your safety that we're concerned about, stands need to be as far apart as possible but under a solid part of the vehicle

One more thing... Don't jack these cars up at the front via the crossmember... They will bend and sit against your gearbox once bent.
It happens very easily and creates alot of vibration and noise thought the floor/ cabin.

I replaced mine with one that looked fine, but that was bent too...

i use a scissor jack to lift it up about an Inch extra... then i can slip the hydro jack under there.

i am now going to possibly have to buy a brand new crosmember... because i'm sick of it and all the second hand ones will probably be the same

it can be jacked up at the "cup" of the crossmember right under the lower radiator core support, it will not bend the crossmember there... I avoid using that as a lift point because I don't like the idea of putting so much load on the core support there, but it has been done before without problems

the shop manual also shows it as an official lifting point

Ahh ok. It looks designed for that purpose, which is why I've used it. Maybe I'll have to use the scissor jack until I can afford a hoist

as above... I don't really like that lifting point either... hence why I use the other method

Or just drive onto 2 planks of wood. Either way works,.. Ive got a couple pieces of timber about 40mm thick that give the height needed to get the jack under there

hmmmm to leave the out dated sound stream system in the SP or put my 6 month old ground zero system in there.

Only problem would be i would need to replace the speakers for 5x7" fronts -.-

(damn you stupid size speakers)

You can get adapter plates... Or make some out of MDF.
Pretty damn sure 6x9's will fit too.

Also... You might want to check the GB thread for the AAC bumper brackets... You have until tomorrow to decide lol.

Doubt there will be another Group buy on those btw.
