I'm not changing for power saving. The ebay hong kong LED versions of these lights are 50% cheaper than the filament aussie part store versions.

I haven't changed the indicators as I was aware of the fast blinking issues. But is there is a solution, then I'll swap everything over in time when needed.

I was following a ford laser with LEDs in the tail lights and you could barely even see the lights were on.
When you buy LED lights make sure the LED is pointing in the right direction so they work effectively.

Yeah already thought of that. But thanks Phil for the head up. Good advice as many reading would not have.

Due to the design of my tail lights. I'll need some that do a full 360 spray of light. Due to the round lense and reflector of my red stop light.

There is a chrome diamond cut look reflector behind the red lense, so much backwards direction light comes from a reflected source also.

You can see what I mean with the indicator amber globe. The reflection and brightness because of it is extreme. Most peeps complain about my excessively bright taillight. I always get asked if I drive with my foot on the brake.

Regular frosted colour eom tail lights don't have this luxury, so yeah you'd really have to make sure you get the correct facing globes.

This is a major problem that most LED bulbs have. The more high-powered ones that are actually brighter than an incandescent need a heatsink which would get in the way of where side-facing LEDs would be.

Fortunately, a bloke at the FerrariLife forums did a massive roundup of LED bulbs and seemed to reach an absolute conclusion, which is that these bulbs here are the best.

The significance of this test is that the F430's design means the bulb enters the stop light sideways, not facing out - therefore it needs to be able to shine backwards onto the deflectors to perform any good.

Took me a while, but I found where you can source the bulbs in question for cheaper, in more sizes and colours: Taobao.

Rear high brake light
Brake lights
Licence plate/Side indicators
Reverse/front & rear indicators/parkers

You can bulk-buy these things from Alibaba but I don't want 100 of one bulb though lol. I have a mate whose specialty is reselling stuff like this in Aus though, so if my results are any good he might get a whole lot in. They're not cheap but from reviews they look fantastic...

those sMB ones can be brought anywhere. the wedge ones are $2-$3 for a piar and the others are $10-$11 a pair including shipping from most hong kong ebay sellers.

Think you might want to click through on some of the links I've posted those Epistar bulbs are completely another kettle of bananas to the crappy SMD bulbs.

Jaycar is definitely worth a look, grab their big catalogue and you will find all you need, including LED H3 headlight bulbs now too. I've had my jaycar LEDs (indicators reverse park) for nearly 2 years and no worries. My clear repeaters are glued on now ...
By the way a 270k resistor is more on the money, getting there.

The eBay flasher that I bought was nowhere near the right size/plug

So, pictorial guide from my worklog:

Pop a small screwdriver in here to pry the cover off.

Work the board out of the shell - I found flexing the shell while pulling on the last pin worked best (ignore the screwdriver)

Replace highlighted resistor (R1) with a 270K resistor.

New 270K, 1% resistor installed along with the old one (which is 100K 5% I think - my eyesight isn't as good as my cameras )
