so far the following issues have popped up:
clunking when turning the wheel [stopped and moving]
layshaft is about to fall off
blowing smoke when cold and revved a bit
i think the sump gasket has gone
engine mounts keep moving

i have added:
short shifter
V6 foglights and lip
custom made LED tailliights

also went racing for a bit as well, absolutely smashed it the corners while being raped on the straights

unfortunately i got in trouble for going too fast in the corners

wooo

just did a compression test and it came back with:
185 175 175 185

its almost the same as from factory! yay for me

would there be any pros to changing the valve seals now, the motor is coming out mid next year for semi-rebuild and turbocharging

I probably wouldn't worry about it if you're working toward a rebuild.
Remember those valve keepers you sent me? I ended up ripping the head off to get them and the new stem seals and supertech springs/retainers installed in there. While you can do it without removing the head, You need to work out a technique to get the keepers in place and its way easier on your back doing it at a benchtop.
Compression seems alright enough to wait until its all done at once.
Keep piling up the parts..

Changing the pistons to the BPT ones to lower the compression, I know you can turbo the n/a motor but I'm paraniod about blowing it up

You know they only used lower compression pistons cos engine management systems from 25 years ago, (yes 25 years ago) couldn't prevent knock like engine management system of today?

Ended up buying one from cookie a few months back hahah

So after all the stuffing around with valve seals and other issues popping up and The oil consumption getting worse (about 2ltrs in 300ks) I gave up on buying oil and finally killed it (loud rattle when it's warm)

Not to worry as I've aquired a turbo project and I'm beginning the motor swap as of today, and I have another car and a stable job so there is no rushing so for once it will be done properly!!

Turbo Motor Specs:
BPT Block:
Rebuilt with 40thou oversize forged Pistons, B6T rods, new seals and bearings, honed and bored, acid dipped, everything balanced, hadn't been started before I bought it
N/A series 3 BA head
Jap spec ECU

In the process of building a VF10 hybrid

Have started the motor for 1 min and it ran very smoothly

Gonna be using the factory TX3 smic for that stealth look

Gonna be sweet once she finished
