BJII-J48 New Rotors and Pads

Hello everyone, Dad's car came back from the service and they told him he needs new rotors and pads, they only have about 500km on them left before they need to be replaced. They quoted him $320 per corner for new pads and rotors, I'm thinking we could buy our own and get them to fit them cheaper, what are our options? Thanks, we'd like to use the current calipers. The car is a daily work car, it does 40,000km a year so we don't really need the bees knees for track work.

a pair of slotted RDA's will cost you around $180, and around $50 on pads, so a lot cheaper then you've been quoted.

Your better off replacing the brake fluid as well.

I did my rotors and pads today. Never done them before. I found it pretty easy. A few bolts here and there. And saved a lot of money. Give Astro Boy a message and I'm sure he'll look after you

Ah yep awesome, what tools will I need for the change and where can I get the rotors from? We don't care about brake dust because we never wash the car because we go over dirt roads 2/5 days a week and it has a tonne of carpark scratches on it, you wash it and the big yellow stripe down the side appears and white scrapes here and there.

By the way, car has 225,000km on it.

Hi mate,

Is your BJ got 4 or 5 stud wheels, and what size motor?

Cheers,
Greg

Stud pattern will be 4x100. Only SP20's have 5-stud rotors

We can do QFM Super X pads and RDA rotors, $155 for the front axle, and $170 for the rear axle.

Regards,
Greg

Thanks boys, how much for shipping to country victoria, on top of those prices? Are the QFM pads good for street use? Also, how do they stack up against OEM pads? We're out in the sticks and there are three spots we ride the brakes on to keep under the limit going down hill.

Shipping Country Vic would be $22. QFM Super X is what we used to supply to a local Ford dealer as their general trade servicing pad, so they're quite good and will be equal to or better than OEM.

Excellent, are they slotted rotors or just standard? Does those prices include both sides or just each?

Thanks much.

All those prices are for both sides. The rotors price were just standard. Slotted rotors and pads would be $228 for the front axle and $244 for the rear axle. When we quote 'per axle' it means per end, or 2 wheels. Someone tried to get to real technical with us one day, and tell me per axle meant 'per stub axle' ie one wheel... not that case!

Regards,
Greg

Alright, thanks for clarifying, I was just making sure hehe. No need for the extra money on slotteds.

What payment methods do you take?

Do you ship to home addresses? Also, how long do I have to get the money from the bank and do the direct deposit? You do direct deposits from the bank right or does it have to be online?

We'll ship to a home address, but because it's not going with Australia Post, any redelivery or alternative arrangements made with Couriers Please are your own responsibility. You don't have a work, or a family member that does?

Direct deposit can either be online, or in branch at any westpac. Or else credit card over the phone is also available.

Westpac is my bank, so that is easy. I would get it delivered to my parents work but Government Departments really don't like packages without their names on it getting delivered to their offices. I can't do it this Saturday, maybe next.

The government one will be fine. I can put their name in the 'ship to', and your details in the 'bill to'.
