Engine Swap / Upgrade
So im looking at replacing my engine as it has almost 300,000 kays on it and is running a bit harsh...
Any ideas and opinions on the best way of doing this? ive heard a lot of gos about these FS-ZE engines but want to know the facts and whether it will actually make a difference. Cheers

Read and do some searching. You will find everything (plus more) here. And yes. It is an improvement but you need to get all the pieces of the puzzle.

This might be a great opportunity to make a sticky on the subject. Maybe people(s) that have done a FS-ZE swap could put something together?

FS-DE = $1500-2000
FS-ZE = $2500-3000 Is the extra $1000 worth it? Definitely! More low & high end torque, improved fuel economy, and thats with running the stock FS-DE ecyu & loom. Those prices above include motor, installation & replacing parts.

20hp ATW difference, may not sound like a lot, but its a noticiable difference in power delivery.
From the past 4 years..
