I may just have to bookmark this thread for next time someone starts a thread complaining about how much stuff costs.
Don't get me wrong that is realy bad and the shop that did it should be ashamed but for $750 hello hear the alarm bells!!!

What I'm left wondering is whether Mike (aka dodgy Mcshopowner):
a) never undertook any training and just assumed "it can't be that hard"; b) trained but is just plain sh!t; or c) is actually good at what the shop does, but actively cuts as many corners as possible. From what I read it seriously looks like the first option. Either way, how does a guy run a business like that and actually make any money? |

back then $750 would of been nearly $1300-$1500 over here...i reckon that the money paid he should of had way better fitment and so on...
all he got done was front and rear lips & sideskirts...

Well I don't see a problem.
Think about it if you ran a proper shop. Oh tha'ts right most body kits take $1000 min just in labour to fit - Correctly. I've only ever fitted amazingly ashamed to say body kits for two types of cars - a Talon for a Excel TWIN CAM. Along with a HSV kit and most of the parts on to VS - Exec V8. easy done but I have to say that, I'd never do it again. the HSv was easy parts were Found for it off an original car and it's 95% bolt on and except for a few bits the Talon one was easy too. But gee even then the Talon one would of been like $500 in fitting IMO. just because you fit it trail - refit and then the owner wanted it all sprayed off the car. Then some of the parts needed to be glued on correctly. like silly scoop. But to make it fit need and perfect. Most new body ktis are better most or some FRP but most Fibreglass is now comign gelcoated so easy work - No pin-holing and the like. No excuse regardless of cost. It's poor work but it's funny I find how Cheap tight arse bastards - Poor work and complaining on the internet go hand in hand. |
