Man i love 180s!
I like your body kit, it's not over the top. Side skirts in particular look good. |

the kit is a stock type X, with the spoiler removed.
i love that kit... especially the rear lights, but the only thing that is annoying on the stock rear kit is the exhaust hole... i reckon that its too big for the nismo style exhaust systems... the center is fine, but the passengers side needs to come around a bit further. just my opinion... but it suits perfectly for a slightly angled cannon, for example a Trust TiR, or a Bee *.

Hey mate nice stuff. Where did you get the flywheel from ? Im on the lookout for a full type x det conversion for a s13. All the bits and pieces have been done for the NA > turbo conversion, just time to lower the engine in.
Look foward to reading more about your work Thanks, Pat.

Had a we little accident a few days ago....a lady decided she wanted to go straight in a turn right only lane with me in the outside lane turning right...she was smoking, texting and driving at the same time!!!!...she however told me she wasnt texting but turning her phone off.....like I care...
What was really annoying is that she claimed fault at the crash site but when her Insurance got in contact with me, I was at fault, she had told them a completely different story...F%$@#&*&^%&^%.....turd....so now I have to wait until my insurance company sorts it out and over the holidays, It wont be an easy task...and with me leaving for Sydney in 4 days, Ill have to drive around with this damage which makes me very annoyed... Ill keep you all posted...

I haven't, I have a police report, satellite images of the intersection, my statement, drawings of the accident and a witness testimony..Ill be fine..just really inconvenient and she may get in more trouble for placing the misleading report to the insurance company...
On a positive not the clutch is now broken in and the lightened flywheel is awesome..different... It doesn't like to go up steep hills in high gears and Ive lost a bit of low down torque but the revs dropping and accelerating have improved heaps...just need more boost..lol

So, since my internet has been a bit iffy...Ive had more time to do things on the 180...
I had half the oil cooler installed in the car for about 3 months, that is the core and 2 braided lines leading into the engine bay but couldn't be bothered to finish the rest... I had heaps of problems because I bought a "universal" SR kit but it was limited due to where I wanted the core and where the lines would reach... After I got my gauges, I finally decided to go out, get some -8 braided line and a whole bunch of speedflow fittings and do it myself... Finally after about 3 months work...its done..... The OEM filter plate The A/M Racespec plate I originally had some thick aluminium brackets holding the core but they flexed and were at risk of htting my FMIC so I got some nice and thick 4mm steel and that doesn't move at all. I had to extend the OEM pressure harness to so that it would reach the new spot that it was going to go. Since I put in the cooler, I decide to splurge on some instruments...after heaps of research I decided that DEFI gauges are way overpriced and were not as accurate as everyone claims...not to mention the $300 sensors if they bugger up and Autometer were cheaper but didn't provide some of the features unless I wanted to pay the DEFI prices.... so I got Autogauge... This is what they look like when the IGN is off. This is what the gauge does when it hits the set warning as well as a loud continuous beep The Water Temp gauge isn't hooked up yet because Im getting a plate from the states so I don't need to cut hoses or anything like that. They have a Peak recall setting and a Warning setting that is set by the user, the harnesses are all sealed with proper connectors and for once, they are nice and bright even in direct sunlight. After the install I found my oil was cooling down to 71 degrees celcius and exiting the engine to the cooler at 85 degrees celcius out at QR on a track day. That's an awesome change considering the revs I was pushing and the heat off the tarmac. I also never have to worry about the oil getting to cool because of the oil inline thermostat keeping it all stable. So far they have worked well, they are surprisingly accurate and for an electric gauge, very responsive. Im going to do a review on them some time later on. After I did this, the lady that hit me had a change of heart after I sent her a court summons letter and paid her excess, this was the result... I also got them rolled at the same time... And Cameron did this for free... Last but not least, the awesome dude at the Panel House, a sponsor and good friend (Bourbon) got me some practice drift rims on the cheap... S13 SR rims with Bridgestones with about 5mm of tread left... Even though Im more set on time attack and circuit work, it is always good to have a lil drift every now and then...

Thanks for the kind words guys... I used my multimeter probe out at QR to see the water temp and it just hit 90 degrees celcius during a hard driving session.

If ya werent doing the stupid peace sign in the 3rd pic, it would make for an awesome poster
The more I look at the rear of your car zaps, the more I think that the ducktail wing suited it, or get the Type-X spoiler it just looks bland to me...

Hehehe, I have that same thought....not about the peace sign, about the wing...that's why I haven't sold it yet but the peace sign is epic....nice to see your looking close enough to see it though Marc...

Good to see you enjoyed Superlap.
forgot about you lot coming down. I was in the garage of insightmotors - S2000 and Evo. most of fri and sat. Actually working on the S2K on sat to fix it's Vtec solnoid from overheating. but it was a great day out, and for those who missed out Hopefully NEXT year it is another World time attack again. Not sure if the world wants to travel to Aus because out OHS stuff is a bit hard core. Even our own MAL Rose who drove the V8 supercar- I was talking to him afterwards and he went off his brain about going world wide never being told to stand behind a redline - even when he's not next to his car. But lets hope we can put a on good show again next year. |
