16x7 no problem. 17x8 +38 is about 5mm from my JIC shock body, so with a 16x8 and standard shock and the huge spring rest...you'd be pushing it. I think the tyre will be rubbing on the spring rest (and maybe the body) unless you stretch the rubber a fair bit
