Latest thing has been the radiator. the stock one popped a while back, so i bit the bullet and decided to have an aluminum one built.
Built by Race Radiators in Dandenong. 27mm stock vs 40mm new. Same cores as they use for Skyline GTRs, so it'll be fine for mine. It's a bit of future-proofing for when i eventually get a bigger turbo. Power = heat, after all. Also working to fit the Mazdaspeed MX5 airbox i bought a while back, as the ARC V6 Lantis airbox doesn't have a chance in hell of fitting in the space available.

$660 for the radiator, and another $150 for the 2nd fan. Much better than the $880+ that PWR wanted!

Front lip, rear spoiler, numberplate recess in the rear bumper cutout. Oh, and the bonnet that i've hacked a hole in!

Got the radiator in. Getting the lower (braided) hole on was a bitch though! Need to dig up a small hole clamp for the radiator overflow bottle rubber line from the top near the radiator cap, as the pipe off there is slightly smaller than the stock one and the hole isn't sealing properly. Otherwise working fine!
Most of the effort was involved in replacing that old temporary airbox i had with something better. I ended up using the Mazdaspeed MX5 one i bought a while back, as it actually had a chance of fitting compared to the ARC V6 Lantis one. The standard cover didn't really work in the space i had, so i fashioned up a scoop that directs air into it pretty well, that sucks from just in front of the gearbox. It faces the gearbox, not the front of car - so the ram air effect is negligible, but the amount of crap getting in will be minimal as well. Best of all is that the MS Airbox bolts the BP sensor nicely to it, freeing up a bit more space.

sharpen that up a bit and you can decapitate any roadkill you drive over
does that box sit in sortof the same place the NA one does ( in front of the battery ) or behind the headlight. What do you have as turbo > AFM pipe ? |
