You are correct... You have a rule of a 1" width increase with the likes of RACV/NRMA and most likey RACQ seeing as they all fall under the same banner pretty much.. So that means seeing as you have the V6 [bastard] you can insure your car for a 7½" rim.
and also in Vic you can engineer the 1.8 with 7.5" rims (which would normally be restricted to a 6.5") with no problems
