king springs for BA V6 astina..
just bought and fitted some kings springs 1 step lowered springs for the V6 astina.
can't say i'm too impressed as they are hardly lowered at all. in fact if i didn't know it was done (and have to pay the bill) i wouldn't pick it to look at it. the springs are a bit firmer, the back sits slightly lower, but the front doesn't look any different.. i wasn't after the car to be on its guts so i didn't get the super lows, but i was after a 1 inch or so drop.. i had fitted the 'lows' in another car (charade, years ago) and they made a fair difference to it so i was hoping for the same. not bagging them, just airing my opinion here for others to see. and save you spending $300 on lowered springs for them to be not lowered. i checked the part numbers a few times, and might even call the store on monday to check once more... at least insurance won't get me for lowered springs - they are only stiffened.. also can someone bust out a tape measure on their standard V6 and tell me the space between tyres and arch - on standard rims.. also from ground to front bar would be good.. just out of interests sake.. cheers -tim |

Don't forget the V6 is an inch lower than the 1.8 from factory, and King probably don't realise this...
i'd be 'complaining' and asking for superlows

And if you are going to measure any height with suspension you really need to measure from the centre of the wheel to the guard
Or you will always heve discrepancies due to tyre matching |

kings come in 3 heights, standard, low (35mm) and super low (50mm)...
what did you pay for/get? i would've been asking the question before you got work done. go back and ask again maybe. Ryan |

ground to top of front wheel arch 660 (slighly underinflated tyres)
ground to top of rear wheel arch 670 (properly inflated tyres) ground to bottom of that solid (and painted) mud guard thing 145 centre of wheel to top of front arch 370 centre of wheel to top of rear arch 380 ground to lowest point of front bar 210 (ie under number plate) stock BA V6 Hardtop lemme know what yours are right now and what you do in the end as I too would like about a 1" drop, as Batmans stance while looking the **** is just not feasible in Sydney (particularily with my driveway) |

all the others dont matter as tyres, wheels, weight, accessories can all affect those other measurements. Ryan |

it took my king springs like 5000km to set properly, when i picked it up it didnt look any differnt but a few weeks later it slowly started to get lower, i ended getting around a 38mm drop at the rear and a 32mm at the front.
i cant mesure them any more cos i got coilover now, but give it a few weeks and it will drop!

comparing mine to skippy's; looks like back has come down an inch and front only 1/2 an inch.
might have to make some calls me thinks.. my measurements are taken on a slight slope, front pointing down hill.. as said before, happy with rear, would be happy if front dropped an inch... i wasn't after the on its guts raod scraper car.. |

i just emailed kings and got a reply from them..
in the reply they mention a HTG distance (i'm assuming Hub to Guard). the dude said with the 'low' springs it should measure 365mm, with the factory being 390mm. as you intelligent people would see above, mine measures 360mm with skippy's being 370mm (standard). his suggestion is to buy superlows for the front instead.. should have gone to whiteline me thinks. |

Post a pic.
Your factory springs would have sagged a little, your car is ten years old +-.

the numbers in the cataloge i got is KMFL-82(front low) and KMRL-83(rear low)
the KFFL-90 are for the 1.8L front low, the rear spring for both is the same
