I cooked my brakes today.

hot day + twisty run + heavy braking = brake pedal gets lower and lower + brake stink.

I really need to get some high temp pads next time.

yeah, cooked them plenty at Winton, pretty much every lap!

but Winton was a cooler day, today was stinking hot and it took me by suprise. (at winton when they faded, I wasnt worried, plenty of runoff.......... on a twisty road, there's trees and rockfaces to hit so I get very nervous and go nanna speed the rest of the way)

Technically speaking it wasn't my car that we were driving in, but my friend and I drove all the way from Brisbane to Sydney today (in his 95 Holden Calibra V6). We started at roughly 8am from Brisbane and took the inland route, ie Cunningham Hwy -> New England Hwy -> F3 etc. We got lost on the way to Cunningham because apparently south-west QLD is just a big freakin' construction site, but got on eventually. We drove in 2ish hour shifts, ended up getting back to Sydney at around 10:30pm. It was epic.

2006 Focus Duratec 2.0L, with drive-by-wire.

Needs to be fully factory management and pass a Euro4 emissions test!

I kinda did some modifying in a bad way yesterday afternoon, being a little heat stricken from driving from the coast to Toowoomba with NO stop, pulling into my gf's parents street, i kind of got a little close to the gutter and scraped the front left rim goes for a about 6", but nothing major...

Ah, we have done that all the time, in fact I can't recall ever stopping going from Toowoomba and the GC or SC and vice versa.....kids these days are getting too soft!

Anyway gutter rash sucks none the less.....

the 3 MPS is now exhausted ... one 3" cat back system with a single straight through muffler ... looks damn near standard ... and sounds pretty innocuous until you open her up ... even then it doesn't sound illegal

power gain? oh yes ... we have power

sad to say, but the pallet is nowhere to be seen .... uhhh heard .... the best description i can give is that it sounds like an Evo lancer with a big system ... it's the closest note ... fortunately, nothing like an SR20DET!

Didn't do this today but the other week I put my b'day pressy (Pioneer HU) into my car, finally.
It sounds so good now.
We were running the amp from the rear speaker outs, which sounded crap.
It's so worth upgrading the HU.
Highly recommended!

Bought a Mazda 3 stubby antenna off a fellow OMC member for a measly sum of $5 incl postage from Canberra!

Also bought 4x 12cm blue LED neon strips from ebay to go in the front doors (on the bottom of the storage area) & under the dash, may be a little wanky, but its my car, and I'll do what I want with it

Will have pics up in a week or 2
