Koni dont make adjustable Sport ones for the 89-94, just the normal Koni Reds

my Sport ones (different to 89-94) were $765 - RRP is about $1150 tho...[/colorost_uid0]

they actually do make them for the 89-94 model in holland but then again, Koni is a dutch Brand/holland manufactured...that explains why they are so freaking expensive there in aussie :O[/colorost_uid0]

probably not. the only adjustable thing about the yellow Sport ones is that you can adjust them over the life of the shocks to always give the same ride, as they get worn.[/colorost_uid0]

i've got Ground-Control coilover sleeves. they use tiny little Eibach springs! damned hard ride...but the height adjustability is worth it[/colorost_uid0]

ah. to get Konis into an Astina (89-98), you have to have the top mount of your existing Mcpherson struts cut off, and the Koni shock inserted into the existing strut base, and bolted into place.

dunno why koni made them like that, but they do...[/colorost_uid0]

Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting my 97 astina lowered 2" ... King Springs or Pedders? Which would you guys recommend.

If I keep my exisiting shocks, will that still be okay in terms of handling or will the lowered springs stuff up my shocks? *(The cars done 40,000kms so far).

Another thing is... with the car lowered say 2" how do you guys get up steep driveways etc... cos my driveway is steep

Hey Rupe, hope to have a look at your koni's at the next cruise and would love to see how the ride is like with your suspension set up! [/colorost_uid3]

i recently had some 2" Kmac springs installed on my car. i must say im not game to try a steep incline just yet however everything clears fine going down your average driveway inclines etc. on an angle of course. 2" is bare minimum looks wise, you shouldnt sacrifice too much handling wise if you keep your stock shocks either

cheers mike[/colorost_uid0]

rupewrecht>> you say that your yellow aren't different form the red ones....actually there is a big difference..

the ones you are high performance/racing shocks(yellow= koni sports line). that's why there much more expensive than the reds. besides the adjustability they also have a total different character than the reds and also lower the car compared to the standard shocks. They are also much better to combine with lowered springs(especially when lowering more than 4,5 cm, which is the lowering height where also replacing the standard shocks by sports shocks)

in holland people use the reds for everyday use just to repce the standard shocks, no difference in your car's driving character.

ppl use the yellow ones if they want to lower the car more than 4 cms and they will also give you better steering performance in kerbs, so you did a good buy...also planning on getting those yellows when my shocks need 2b replaced.

replacing your standard shocks when lowering the car more than 4 cm(approx 1.8 inch), will give you a better balance between spring and coilover, less wear of the shockabsorber(a standard will have to take more load combinde with a lowered car, position of the coilover will be more short, so more force on it) and less humping and bouncing when driving over a bumpy road[/colorost_uid0]

ah fair enough! i stand corrected

but either way, the yellows are too long for me to be able to go as low as i want, while still retaining some suspension travel [/colorost_uid0]
